We come to Gananoque often and try different restaurants when we come. We are usually satisfied or very satisfied but our experience at Moroni's tonight was anything but satisfying. I will say that we were greeted promptly and sat down at a table within seconds of walking in, but that is were the good service stopped. It took about 10 minutes before we were seen for drinks (2 waters and 2 chocolate milks). Once we got our drinks and ordered our food, it took about 40 minutes to come out. There were only 3-4 other tables. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo which was nothing more than butter and parmesan (if that, barely any flavor). One of my daughter's ordered the kids chicken fingers which looked like they were reheated in a microwave and were extremely dry. My wife ordered the half ribs with ceasar salad but got chicken. By the time the correct plate came, the rest of us had finished our plates despite us eating slowly so that we could sit together. Not once did the waitress come and check on us, which would have been nice since all of our drinks were bone dry. Once we paid the bill, the waitress didn't thank us for our business nor offered any other greeting, just took the debit machine and left. The hostess did wish us a good day. One star for being open, one star for the hostess. My wife did tell me that the waitress approached her as she left the washroom to apologize for the mix up of the plates.. I do not recommend nor will we eat here again. I do not write this lightly, I know the impact of negative reviews on small town businesses, but this had to be said.

Stopped in here for a dinner date. The place was super quiet and only a couple tables in. We’re greeted immediately and sat down. Service was quick and friendly. My wife got spaghetti with meat sauce and I got the chicken souvlaki. I tried her spaghetti and it was very good. Perfectly cooked noodles and the sauce was a bit watery but very tasty. My chicken was super juicy and seasoned. The potatoes, rice and salad that came with it weren’t bad either. I’d come here anytime I craved a good chicken souvlaki. I will say tho 7$ for a second screwer is a little much. The building is showing its age. You have to go to the second half of the restaurant next door to use the bathrooms which could use a major overhaul. The place was clean just the building could use a modern/updated touch. Overall our meals were delicious and we would be back again for sure!

Had coffee and bacon and eggs toast and home fries. Fast service great breakfast. Prices are a little bit high, but worth it. Second trip for my bday dinner, May 26th. Had a steak dinner with potatoes and veggies. Steak was tender, juisy but cooked. The menu prices were pretty good. My wife had Chicken Parmesan. There were 5 of us and our bill was $120 bucks. We enjoyed our dinner. Awesome place to eat while you are looking for a reasonable priced meals. And good food. We had breakfast here today, awesome large breakfast for me and a cheese omelet for the Mrs. $30 - 35 bucks for two breakfasts.. tasty stuff.

Lunch time in Gananoque, ON on Sunday...should have been better. We failed to look at the reviews and basically chose restaurant based on fact that it categorizes itself as Moroni's Mediterranean's Ristorante and was opened for lunch . We assumed name would be representative of the quality of food offered. It was not. Save you money and seek elsewhere. Food is tasteless , uninspired and poorly presented. Maybe Sunday's is not a good time to be critical of this establishment. Wait staff and Hostess were courteous and show a brave face but the whole overall ambiance is depressing. From the frozen-to- fried calamari platter we knew what would follow might be worse. It was. Nothing appears to be fresh and food is just slapped on the plates. The Garlic bread which accompanied the messy Pasta dishes was basically Toast Bread cut in 4 triangular bits. For a ristorante (Italian) and for price paid please do not insult the dish with this mediocre add-on. Real bread please. Also: The Bolognese sauce on one of the Pasta dishes was a greek-syle sauce with nutmeg flavoring. Again: Not a Bolognese sauce at all.The pizza dish isn't any better. Dough did not feel fresh. The sausage used in the MORONI"S # 8 was a breakfast sausage , I was expecting real Italian sausage . Not the case, causing the flavor of the Pizza to be a disappointment . Gordon Ramsay (Kitchen Nightmares) would have a field day here. The potential is there (They have a great space), but the Kitchen needs assistance. In this day and age: This type of restaurant with this kind of menu should be better than this . Our feeling from all this is that Fast Food restaurants have better standards. Sorry Moroni's , but you have to take your food more seriously and stop insulting paying customers with these sub-standard...

My family went here during the summer and it was great then. Food was wonderful, fast great service and price was good too. This was the reason for going back today. My son ordered the same meal that he got in the summer that he loved, Penne Carbonara and he asked for the kids menu and after the selection was spoke to him over the phone he said chicken fingers for his two year old. (i was there and heard my sons conversation) He went to pick it up and at the counter the cashier said it was what he ordered. After getting it home my son found he received his meal as ordered but his daughter had not. Hers was spaghetti instead. He called and spoke with Moroni's and immediately the gentleman got heated and yelled that he wasn't making another meal. My son tried to get him calmed down and again he started yelling. This was repeated. My son tried to make a solution in a calm and none rude, gentle way and i was proud of him for doing so even with a person on the other end yelling and getting angry. In the end my son just said have a nice day and hung up, and my grandaughter didnt get her fingers and fries. The meal was not good as it was before and the service was terrible. We will never be going back. We WILL be telling our friends and family. People dont realize that bad advertising gets spread much faster and noticed more than good its human nature. If he had of accommodated my son and just exchanged the meal to the fingers as was ordered, ( for it used to be the customer was always right policy) we might have given the place a second try thinking due to the good service it would be overlooked.. Word of mouth is a HUGE deal especially in a small...
