Sushi Sun Restaurant — Restaurant in Ontario

We used to eat at Sushi Sun when it was located in Manotick. It was rated the best Sushi in Ottawa and it was!

We were so disappointed when they closed, but thankfully they opened again in Gananoque. Well worth the 1 hour drive there and back to eat their sushi and other offerings!

Their sushi is by far the best we have ever eaten!

The Sunomono Salad is so refreshing, we order this every time. The Twist Shrimp Tempura is absolutely delicious, a little spicey but it's so worth it! We had both the Spider Roll and the Lobster Roll, but were outstanding as usual. We also had the Japanese soft drink Ramune. Tasted like Cream Soda. Believe me when I tell you that you will probably never have Sushi as good as this restaurant makes.

The restaurant is run by a husband and wife team. The wife is the chef and the husband is the waiter. Extremely polite and pleasant.

The restaurant itself is extremely clean and neat in appearance.

Please go and enjoy the food they have to offer, you will not be...

We made reservations for this restaurant because we heard great things about the food and owners. After traveling hours from Toronto, we got stuck in traffic and we called the restaurant to see if they can push back our reservation to 845/9 pm. The gentleman on the phone (which was the owner) assured us that there is no problem. We arrived at 9 pm and the doors were closed even though their hours of operation stated that they're open till 930 pm. Eventually the owner came and opened the door for us and told us that they closed their kitchen early...even though we had called them and told them we will be coming by 9 pm. It was very unprofessional and not expected from a restaurant with such great reviews. Owners should take more pride and responsibility...

The mixed tempura (shrimp and veggies) was by far the best we've ever had! The nigiri salmon sushi was fresh and delicious, and when I ordered a second round they gave me a sample of the tuna.

The customer service was top notch although we were the only two people in the restaurant at that time. It is open from 5 - 930 pm each night and we called earlier in the day to make a reservation via voicemail.

Sushi Sun is high quality sushi, amazing service, a smaller menu but has everything you're looking for if you opt for crispy rolls, spicy, or more traditional....
