Shawarma Hot Spot — Restaurant in Ontario

Had Chicken “shawarma”. Ordered via DoorDash. It was shawarma like I am the queen of England. It was dry. It was made by someone who has no basic idea of how ingredients respond to heat. It was full of breast meat. Breast meat alone is not what’s used in real shawarma. Dark meat is interspersed with breast meat. Dark meat brings the flavour and moisture while breast meat brings the volume to the dish. Any cook worth his salt would know that basic composition when marinating and setting up the spit. Another disappointment was the salad. Usually there is plenty of vegetables to balance the meat. Don’t even get me started on the rice. As a life long rice eater, I wouldn’t serve that if my life depended on it. Having had shawarma on three continents, I must say this was the saddest example of a truly tasty street eat. I could give 0 stars i would. Me and my husband went earlier this week at 8pm, walked in to a whole family standing there with no masks on and the place didn’t have any plastic shields to protect the food, they only had small tables, anybody could cough with the virus and contaminate the whole food line and rotisseries. Potatoes were bland, poutine was drenched and had old fries in it, the gyro was filled with taziki sauce that wasn’t good, the chicken souvlaki sauce was like mayo/ sweet donair sauce, and we got a chicken shawarma. After eating half the sandwiches and trying the potatoes with the spicy garlic, we didn’t even want to try the chicken shawarma. Also there was 3 people on the food line, not one had a mask on or sanitized after handling money.

I placed my order over skipp & ended up receiving my order 2 hours later. When my order arrived, 1/4 of my shawarma plate was dumped into the bottom of the plastic takeout bag & I never received any hummus and garlic sauce at all for my plate. - this is the first time in my life I ordered shawarma and received no hummus and garlic... but instead they added feta cheese to my plate - & THE FETA CHEESE ENDED UP BEING VERY VERY BAD/OLD.
