The Squirrel Cage — Restaurant in Ontario

Haven't been to squirrel cage since before the pandemic. They are no longer in the dark grayish building. They are now in the white building next door that is a dog's breakfast. Both places are now in the same white building. The menu is the same for both places ( nothing different). I did not see french toast on the menu anymore. The salmon eggs benedict was delicious as in the past. Only thing they now put it on this tiny narrow plate. Half the time I was worried that it would fall off the plate while cutting. They also no longer include salad with the eggs benedict. You have to pay extra now for the salad. Not alot of breakfast options. They have other things like burgers, sandwiches, fries and poutine. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The entrance is the middle door not the 2 other doors on either side. Kinda hard to conversate since it was quite noisey in the building on a saturday morning. I ordered from here online and specifically requested no greens. When the food came there were strawberries in it. Which was not listed on the website. I am airborn allergic to them. In my breakfast there were also greens. When I called them regarding it. There reply was "you should have mentioned it online" if it were clearly stated, yes I would have, however I also mentioned no greens but they obviously didn't read it considering I got them too. So even if I had requested to have no strawberries I would have got them too. Thanks for the allergy attack and food I cant eat! Only gave 1 star because it wouldnt...

One of the best places to grab lunch at! The atmosphere is extremely cosy and the man who owns the shop is extremely friendly. The food is pretty cheap, and the food quality is abolsutely amazing. It's a pretty big shop and the decor is very modern and it's fairly cute. The paintings that are located within the shop are for sale (simce the last time I have been there) and they also have plugs near the tables as well- just incase you need to bring in your electronics! 100% would...
