Blind Owl — Restaurant in Ontario

We visited The Blind Owl for the first time last weekend while we were in town. Even though we’ve been to Windsor many times, we had somehow never made our way here before.. probably because, true to its speakeasy style, it’s a little hidden gem!

I was so pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. The ambiance is absolutely perfect - cozy, cool, and exactly what you want from a spot like this. We were greeted and served by Brandon, who was fantastic! Super friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel right at home. Honestly, I wasn’t even expecting full table service in such a small space, so it was a really lovely touch.

The cocktails were top-notch (you can tell a lot of care goes into them) and the charcuterie board was delicious, perfect for snacking while sipping!

It’s funny, because it feels like this place is almost too nice for the area it’s in, but that works out well for us, since we usually find ourselves wandering that neighborhood during our stays at the casino.

Excellent. The bartender (Anthony) is kind, polite, and very skilled in the artisanal cocktail. If you ever have a question, he has an answer. If you need a recommendation, he nails it on the head Every time. The music is nice and light; it's not overpowering. It's entirely possible to carry a conversation without having to yell. It compliments the feel of a classic speakeasy, with a touch of modern influence. The inside of the bar itself is dimly lit with candles, chandeliers, and Edison-style lightbulbs - Very cool. It's not a large bar, so seating is limited, but I highly recommend the section with the wingback chairs if you can get to it first. Be prepared to spend $8-$12 per drink, as they are all handcrafted from scratch with fresh fruit (and other ingredients) by a trained & true professional. You won’t find a better cocktail in Windsor. The Blind Owl, in a relatively unnoticeable spot of the street, ends up embracing the speakeasy vibe of being somewhat hidden in plain sight. Inside there’s one main bar with various small groups of chairs around the room. These bartenders are well trained, capable of fun flips, tricks and dips to dazzle you into a trance before serving up your order.
