The Windsor Club — Restaurant in Ontario

Went to a wedding a couple weeks ago and I have to say that the experience was not great for the price you are paying. Food was excellent but the service was sub par and the venue building is in need of repair. They were understaffed and disorganized regarding the front of house. The bar tender was unacceptably rude (all guests complained). They forgot to put out wine glasses before dinner service and someone from the wedding party had to go remind the staff. There was a delay between the salad course and main course (people started getting up). Staff needed to be asked to clean and tidy areas the day of the wedding as the patio had broken tiles and the vestibule had dirty glass tables. I feel like most of the staff were polite and helpful (with the exception of the afformentioned bartender) but it was clear that leadership struggled to manage the staff, who were evidently inexperienced. The venue was not well cared for as one would expect, particularly because this is a club for which members pay monthly for. I have been to other member only clubs for weddings such as Beach Grove and the service is impeccable. I would think twice if you are planning...

We attended a wedding here for approx 100 people. There were some definite positives and negatives to this venue. Positives- The outdoor patio, and Detroit Skyline view. There isn't much you can say badly about this, just beautiful. Food was well-prepared, healthy and fresh. Negatives- Very tight even with just 100 people. It's ok once dinner is over and everyone starts to spread out around the bar and patio areas, but I personally felt everyone's backside (servers and guests venturing to the washroom) on my shoulder over dinner! I found the food portions to be quite small, but as I mentioned, very good. So overall 3.5-4 stars for me, I value my space especially when eating. We had a company Christmas party there. The food was amazing. Wish there would have been some bread on the side as the portions are not very big. However, it does not take away from the deliciousness of the and there is not one thing that wasn't super tasty. I had the beef tenderloin. The service was also excellent. Beware though that both men's and women's washrooms are upstairs do not go downstairs or you might be surprised it's like a war zone. Someone had told me that the washrooms were downstairs.
