Madrocks Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Oshawa

We had booked reservations over 2 weeks prior for a dinner event with 35-40 people. They were nowhere near prepared for us with only 2 waitresses for the whole restaurant, no bartender on shift. We waited over an hour for our drinks (including canned beverages), and over 2 hours for our food. We almost had to leave before getting our meals as we were going to miss our callback time. The young waitress on shift, Nupar, was AMAZING and did her very best but was put under severe pressure due to lack of proper scheduling from management. This was an extremely horrible experience and I would never dine here again nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. The food was absolutely horrible, the drinks were horrible, the service was horrible. The only thing good about this was our server, Nupar, who was attentive but at the end of the night I felt extremely bad for due to the situation she was put in that she clearly should have had more help with. One server for almost 40 people? Absolutely not okay. I left no tip as no tip was deserved for this horrible establishment, but I later returned with a giftcard for this young woman who tried her hardest to make sure we were all taken care of. Just down right disgusting how management handled a reservation with weeks notice. Not to mention they RAN OUT OF CUPS during our visit. I have never heard of a restaurant running out of cups? Absolutely horrible experience. I hope Nupar finds a better establishment to work at that respects her and her work ethic as this place is clearly...

Perfect location for those who are heading to a Generals game, Concert or just browsing the downtown core.

The interior is decorated nicely with lots of sports memorabilia. There are plenty of tables, booths and seats available at the bar. The patio has lots of tables and umbrellas for those who wish to enjoy the sunshine. 🌞

There are more TV's than I can count so any sports fan can watch their event. Go Bills! 🏈

We enjoyed every dish we tried. I would highly recommend the butter chicken poutine. It was saucy and delicious; A good portion size too. (Next time I'll try the Mexican Poutine)

The wings were sauced well and they had a wide variety of sauces to choose from.

The Mushroom Spinach Ravioli were stuffed with lots of delicious stuffing and sauced in a creamy rose sauce.

The chocolate fudge brownie was definitely chocolatey and fudge-y. The perfect portion for two to split at the end of a meal. It was served warm and was rich and creamy.

I had a Tropical Paradise cocktail and my other half had a Blue Lagoon. Both were picturesque and tasted delicious. The tropical paradise might be my new favorite drink!

Service was great and our hostess Cece was an absolute delight. I'll definitely be stopping by again to try some of their other dishes and...

I genuinely don't understand how this place has so many positive reviews. I'm not one to complain but people need to be aware.

We walked in and right away it smelled dingy and very run down- not a great start but we pushed through. We were greeted, seated and got our menus right away- about the only positive thing I can say.

We ordered drinks and our pop was flat and tasted funny. We ordered our main and requested a side of mayo with the fries.

When the food came- with no mayo- I requested a side of mayo again and was told it would be right out. 5 minutes later, my boyfriend went up to the bar to get said mayo.

The food itself was disgusting. We ordered pickle chips and they were incredibly overcooked and the oil that was used was very old. We had a chicken wrap and fries and the chicken was very clearly frozen chicken finger strips (not even the good ones). The only thing decent were the fries.

After we finished our meal we waited over 15 minutes to get our check and to clear our plates (for context, there was one other group of people in there that were only drinking beer- and they had to request a refill multiple times during our time there).

I had to go up to the bar to request that we get our cheque as we had to go- I can't even imagine how much longer we would've had to wait had I not gone up and got their attention.

In short, awful service, very rundown and gross food....
