Ahh City, how I love thee. Anyone who loves EDM is gonna end up here- all your local artists to amazing international performances and Escapade after parties. Legends of yesterday & today- in fact, the person in the crowd beside you could be tomorrow's big name in EDM - so practice your PLUR (Google it) City is BIG on consent (why I love this place) their security is top notch- you have an issue, you speak up and it's dealt with. Love the intimacy as it's a tight space when it's packed and the artists are an arm's length away. The sound system is loud, bring loops/ear gasms etc if you need them. Bar can be hard to navigate too when packed, use your manners- most people are PLUR gang- but tip your bar tenders & smile, you'll be seen from then on. Bar, security & door staff are top notch. In the summer, yes, it's way too hot, and muggy, is it a basement. So dress accordingly. (Mesh/alt styles all welcome) As always, do not use flash pls in the scene- it's a vibe harsher- there's sick lazers and Rick's white rabbit events are unreal. Was once told nothing that glows is allowed- Honestly, City has grown so much from just a club- to a kitch spot when concepts was running on Thursdays, sometimes shut down for private events, and lately, extended hours (5 am) - also a camping event in the summer (search on insta for details) Bathrooms, damp, artsy (bring a sharpie) big line ups, squads inside the 2 stalls, often needing reminders to exit (ladies room esp) be ready for that, or ask security to deal w it. If you can't find your friend(s), check the alley.

City is the best place to be if you like EDM and/or raving but don’t like a typical “club” atmosphere. People are usually mindful of others, and “PLURR” culture is pretty common. So if you’re looking to get sloppy or disrespectful, this isn’t the place for you and you will get told by both attendees and management lol. Bouncers are great, and management is easy to talk to if you have any concerns/issues. Drinks are well priced too, and in my opinion, make up for the cover price. If you want something more casual, Thursdays might be better for you. But everything is great and everyone should try the events at least once each to see how much variety there is.11/10 for me!

I’ve been dancing at pretty much every club in Ottawa. City At Night is my go to choice almost every time because the bartenders, DJ’s, security, staff, music, and patrons are all top notch and you couldn’t ask for better, kinder, more considerate people. I recommend this place to all my friends and I will recommend it to any newcomers! City at night is a charming venue for dance, music and other arts and has even more charming people in it! Check it out on w Wednesday/Thursday for more chill Vybes or Friday/Saturday for more up-tempo beats. Cheers

I loved this establishment so much up until yesterday…shame on the security staff..terrible terrible security! They used physical force on my friend that was intoxicated..and continued to use physical force on me and my other friend when we were trying to get my friend out of the club to get him home safely! None of us were indicating any type of fight in the club except the fact that my friend was drunk and was able to go back in thanks to the security outside that let him in knowing that he was extremely intoxicated. Not only they don’t do their job properly, but also use physical force cause their security system sucked, I have never in my life seen such thing where an establishment allows their security to throw out intoxicated people, beat them up and push them further from safety…adding to that..the amount of underage people in that club is insane..no id checks…people doing hard drugs everywhere..and after u tell the security about it they tell u to Mind your business, get your staff to learn the responsibility of working in an establishment that serves excessive alchohol without manatoring their customers or even respect the limited capacity of crowd that should be inside…your liscence should be taken away..and this...

This bar has serious issue with attracting female patrons.

I was looking for a dance bar, so this was recommended. I was charged $22 at the door as cover (the most expensive anywhere, ever). An orange juice in a smallest glass ever, I was charged $9 for it!. Respectful staff and fast service at the bar.

When I entered the bar, I was taken by a complete surprise to see that almost everybody was a guy. The dance stage was full of people most standing but over 90% were men some dancing by themselves.

This bar has a serious issue attracting ladies and must take steps to ensure more ladies participating (including free admission for ladies or lady's hour or nights). This is just terrible.

Needless to say, I stayed only 15 minutes and when I was coming out, I also saw a lineup of over a dozen customers all guys waiting to get in.

Though it may get five stars from a lady's point of view (about 10% of patrons in the bar), however, I can hardly give it two stars (for polite staff). If you know of a good dance bar,...
