Worst service I have ever received...
I came in with a friend and we were served with the blonde white girl. He ordered a pint of Sapporo and we both ordered two orders of friend chicken (gold cheese and the hot & spicy). She comes back with a pitcher of beer...when she realized she messed up she poured the drink like it was water causing excess foam at the top. After waiting for our food, we only got one order which was the gold cheese chicken with two hot and spicy sauces on the side. After expressing it to her, she apologized and said she thought we only wanted one order of chicken and that she was going to punch it now. We finished our first order of chicken and waited for our second to come. After taking a really long time, we got our order of chicken except this time it was bland dry chicken with no flavour. When we asked for more hot & spicy sauce on the side, she said that if we were to order more sauce we would be charged $2 for each one. Telling her that we wanted the hot & spicy chicken and that she brought us the wrong chicken didn't help of course. Me and my friend didn't bother and told her we will just eat it with the 2 original sauces that we got. After receiving the bills, we were charged two $2 charges and when we asked what they were for? She said it was the two sauces that we got...even though she had just told us literally 10 mins ago that if we got more sauce she would have to charge us. When we told her that, she hesitated and then later said that the charges were actually for the cheese on the first chicken order? Like it's called gold cheese chicken and there's literally cheese in the picture on the menu.
Overall, food was mediocre at best and the service just made it so much worse. Please do not bother going here, instead go to...
Read moreI've ordered delivery from GOGIYA multiple times over the last year and I've found it to be delicious and authentic Korean Fried chicken. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been disappointing. It seems they have gotten rid of their whole chicken option, which is usually standard for Korean Fried Chicken, and this makes it hard to share the meal now as is typically done but I accepted this change as I still loved their food. The other evening, I decided to try dining in for the first time. I arrived at 8PM (3 hours before closing) and when I went to order I was told they were sold out of all their chicken except boneless. I was frustrated that we were seated and took the time to sit with the menu and were not informed that half the menu was not available on our arrival and were only told once we went to order. Not to mention, they charge extra for any type of sauce for the boneless but I had come specifically for the saucy chicken. So not only did they not have the desired chicken but the meal would cost way more as I would be charged for the sauce. It was very disappointing. While I understand it was later in the evening, it was shocking to me that a place that specializes in fried chicken would be out of half of their menu many hours before closing. While I really enjoyed this place at first, my recent experiences have left much to be desired. I will probably look to take my business elsewhere but I hope GOGIYA can make some improvements for the future as I really enjoyed their food...
Read moreFull of disappointment Ordered ONE classic fried chicken on an app at 5:42pm on a Sunday evening. It said the order would be ready at 6pm per app. Arrived the restaurant at 6pm. Told the waitress that I came to pick up the order. The waitress asked me to wait for 5 minutes which was very reasonable. However, it took 30 minutes till she handed over me the order. I was so glad that I checked before leaving the restaurant. It turned out it was someone else's order, not my fried chicken! We then waited and got another order. We went back to the car and opened the box and found out there were only FIVE pieces and all were COLD. I just couldn't accept this for $21. We went back to the restaurant and they made a new order. By the time we got it, it was 6:50pm. It took them 68 minutes to make ONE classic dried chicken correctly. Not to mention that when we arrived at the store, there were another couple arrived at same time and they made the order in the restaurant. Even they got bags of food before us and we only order ONE classic fried chicken IN ADVANCE! What is the meaning of ordering on app then?
In terms of the quality of the fried chicken I finally received, it was crunchy and the meat is juicer than average but I definitely can name a couple restaurants in Ottawa can make better Korean chicken than this. It does not worth the time...
