We ate at Club Red prior to a concert at the CTC on September 14. No complaints about the food. But the service was horrible. Throughout our meal our server barely came to our table, never asked if we would like a refill of our beverages despite our empty glasses and never once filled our water glasses. Despite trying to get his attention, we were completely ignored and ate our dinner with not even a glass of water on the table. Then, we waited 30 minutes after the bus person had cleared our dinner plates for our server to come to our table, again even though we tried to get his attention, only to have him suddenly arrive with our bill before asking if we would like dessert or coffee or even water. There are many restaurants in Ottawa at this price point that offer amazing food AND amazing service. Club Red isn't one of them. A disappointment. We will...
Read moreWe (2 of us) had tapas at on my birthday at club CIBC before the Oct 23rd Sens Flyers game (Sens won!!!) and had some tasty food and really great service. The shrimp starter was excellent: large fresh tasting shrimp on a bed or Napa cabbage with a spicy aioli was delicious. We ate most of the cabbage too: really great sweet and salty crunch. Then we ordered tapas and selected the French dip with homemade potato chips, pirogies and the poached cod. All the food was great and the server was very friendly and very attentive. We sat in a booth on the other side of the bar area so it was fairly quiet which was nice. I found the prices to be fine; especially for the CTC. We made a reservation for 4:30pm which gave us lots of time before the 7pm game. It was also next to the valet parking which was perfect. We would definitely dine there again before a...
Read moreI went in before the Cher concert. We were told the doors to the CTC would open at 6:30 . We stood outside in the cold. They did not open until 7:00 leaving us half hour to eat. We ordered wine at the bar to which the waiter up sold a bottle of Villa Maria, 17.95 at LCBO for 76.00. Claiming cheaper to buy the bottle. .....as it usually is....not this time. We had time for a bowl of soup. We told him we were in a rush and could only get the soup. Our waiter’s attitude was so rude. I guess we didn’t order enough. His attitude was very insulting and when we paid him he took the money and ran making me wish I hadn’t tipped him at all. I complained to the woman manager with dark hair and she said oh sorry. I really didn’t feel the love at all. Suggestion for all.....eat off piste. This restaurant was...
