The Greek Souvlaki Shack promises and delivers a genuine Greek dining experience. As soon as you approach the restaurant, one can't help but appreciate its accessibility, as the entrance sits flush with the sidewalk, a thoughtful design for those with mobility challenges. Stepping inside, you're greeted by a space that is simultaneously cozy and inviting, with ample seating accommodating just over two dozen guests. Although the interior design might hint at a vintage era, it holds a charm. The cleanliness of the establishment is impeccable, assuring patrons of a well-maintained venue. However, it's the staff that truly elevates the experience at The Greek Souvlaki Shack. On my visit, a single front-of-house employee managed to seamlessly juggle multiple roles—from manning the cash register to taking orders, from serving the mouth-watering dishes to ensuring tables are promptly bussed. Yet, despite these myriad tasks, they checked in on me thrice during my meal, displaying an impressive level of attentiveness. Remarkably, a kitchen staff member also emerged to inquire about the quality of the food and service, a testament to the establishment's dedication to customer satisfaction. As for the culinary experience, it was nothing short of exceptional. I indulged in a two pork skewer plate, accompanied by fluffy rice, a refreshing salad, and perfectly roasted potatoes. The dish was not only generously portioned but exuded the aromatic and tantalizing flavors synonymous with traditional Greek cuisine. Every bite was a delightful mix of warmth, freshness, and impeccable seasoning. In sum, my experience at The Greek Souvlaki Shack was faultless. From the unparalleled service to the exquisite taste and unmatched value, it ticked all the boxes. I eagerly await my next visit to Ottawa, if only to relish another meal at this remarkable establishment.

Good food but very hot interior and should have better pricing system. We went in June and it was extremely hot inside the restaurant with no air conditioning and no open doors or windows. We ordered grilled meat plates which were good and had a nice quantity. However, due to a dietary restriction when we asked for a plate to have salad replaced with cooked vegetables, we were initially charged much more than a standard plate. The restaurant agreed to adjust the price, but I would suggest adjusting the pricing and arrange the menu by protein and format I.e. choice of protein - format (with salad or rice or potatoes or cooked veggies or combination of) and indicate the price. Otherwise we were charged initially for two skewers individually, which is more than two skewers in a combo plate, which doesn’t make sense. However, the food was good and restaurant was willing to accommodate a change to a dish but it was little expensive.

Really quite good Greek fare. The little place is busy, with all tables full the day I came and a regular stream of Skip/Uber Eats people coming and going. Still, I was seated immediately, my order taken promptly, and my cold Greek beer delivered quickly. I had a chicken skewer plate with rice, potatoes, tzatziki and salad. I also had a lamb skewer. The quantity of food was more than enough, next time I'll probably skip the extra skewer. In total my meal was around $35, including tax, tip and beer. The quality of food was more than adequate. The chicken was flavourful and juicy. The lamb was as well, although a bit chewy as lamb tends to be. Worth mentioning the salad was excellently dressed and the feta cheese was quite good. Nothing else to say other than the staff (family?) Was quite nice. A great place to eat if you're going out with a young family, an inexpensive date, or just some take out if you don't feel like cooking.

Last Saturday, my family and I made the decision to embark on a road trip from Montreal to Ottawa in search of some delicious Greek food. We had been yearning for this cuisine for the past six years and, after reading rave reviews, our excitement was at an all-time high.

In our family, two of us have Celiac disease, so finding a restaurant that caters to our dietary restrictions is always a top priority. We were thrilled to discover that the restaurant we visited not only provided extraordinary food, but also offered a completely safe environment for those with Celiac disease.

The food itself was beyond our expectations. The flavors were incredible, the portions were generous, and every dish was made to perfection. It truly felt like a gourmet experience.

Aside from the outstanding food, we were also blown away by the amazing service we received. The owner of the restaurant went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable dining experience. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their customers was truly phenomenal.

We left the restaurant with our hearts full and a longing for this exact dining experience in Montreal. We sincerely hope that the owner considers expanding their business to our city, as we would love to have such a fantastic establishment close by.

Thank you so much to the entire team at the restaurant for providing us with an unforgettable meal. Your dedication to creating safe and delicious food, paired with outstanding service, truly sets you apart. We cannot wait to visit again in...

The cutest family owned restaurant ever! I’ve ordered from them many times through Uber Eats and it’s become a go-to for me. We also recently ordered my 25th birthday dinner here for takeout and every order has been delicious & consistent. Tonight was the first time I’ve went in and ordered in person and I felt this place really needed a review. The girl on the counter was so sweet, cheerful & chatty. Over the course of ordering my GF pita & Village salad (newly diagnosed as gluten-intolerant) she recommended the GF chocolate chip cookies for a dessert but I passed on it. All of the food being delivered to tables looked delicious. We didn’t wait long at all and while waiting I decided to grab one of the cookies after all. She told me she bakes them all herself in a separate GF-safe kitchen to avoid cross-contamination as her & her mom are both celiac. When I went to pay, she kindly told me it was on her! So sweet & really appreciated Got home and all of the food was SO fresh, flavourful and the portions were plentiful. The GF pita was OUTSTANDING! I’ve never had one that actually tasted like real pita bread (usually so dry & crumbly) and that was soft & pillow-y. Safe to say, we were repeat customers before and this just secured it for us. Hoping to be back as soon as possible, this time for dine in! Thank you so much to all of the staff at Greek...
