Throughout my European travels one of the things I've missed the most are these sandwiches. I fell in love with the Berlin street food and have been craving one of these so bad. Since coming back to Canada it's been really hard to find the same quality of products. Thank you Wolf Down

edit Since my first review 4 years ago it saddened me to find that the sandwich has been reduced in size and therefore my previous 5 star review is now a 4 star. Don't get me wrong still a tasty sandwich however if you've ever been to Germany you know they PACK it with meat. Wolf Down previously packed their sandwiches like in Germany but recently reduced the amount of meat of the sandwich. Sure you can pay extra for additional meat but that's almost an extra $5, I would much prefer to pay a couple dollars more and get a real German experience. Just my two cents. Lately I've been going to GDK on Elgin instead since they pack the meat and also offer the diner...

Wow. I'm absolutely so blown away by this place. My new #1 spot / craving in Ottawa. It reminds me so much of what I had in Berlin, but truthfully, better. The attention to detail is mind blowing. All of the ingredients are fresh and well sourced. The sauces (both Secret and Spicy) are perfectly chosen and work so well together. I've been twice now. Once double beef, the other beef and chicken mix and both were equally amazing. Also, you can tell they spent serious time and attention in creating / sourcing their bread. This is where it differs most from Berlin, this bread seems to be sourdough and is definitely more 'gourmet' in nature but holy smokes did they ever nail it. The staff was very friendly, place very clean and well designed / modern, and just packed with flavours. Hands down the best "sandwich" i've ever had and not to mention, locally owned and operated :) I met the owners, she was VERY friendly ! Will most definitely be going...

Ottawa has a new king of fast food, Wolf Down easily beats all shawarmas or burritos hands down. It's time to say NO to soggy shawarmas and burritos, the German döner Kebap is here to save Ottawa!

I go to Germany all the time on business, and make a special point every time to have the best Kebap in Munich (Turkisht) and Berlin (Mustafa's Gemüse Kebap). I can say with total confidence that the bread quality is better than anything you find in Germany, this is thick solid FRESH bread that will never break or leak on you. This bread will fill you up and leave you satisfied. Not only that, the spices used immediately brought me back to Germany, they absolutely nailed it. The spicy sauce (which I asked for extra) was spot on, and the secret sauce (get both!) was incredible. THIS is how you do Kebap! My hats off to the staff at Wolf Down, they really nailed it!

So remember: Just say NO to soggy shawarmas! Wolf Down has...

Really cool and comfortable place. Minimal style and Tasteful decorated. Very Friendly staff, good services and they are very helpful. I’m giving 3 star unfortunately because the beef is really dry and it is not really “real beef” it is is shawarma kind of beef and so hard to chew; plus the salad plate is not so much “salad” all it had is shredded lettuce, cucumber, tomato and onion, kind of like what you get from fast food place. $11 for a salad like that is not what I expected - no real green. The dressing is pretty heavy too, yes it is taste but if you think this is “salad” it is really not. It maybe very unique to Ottawa - but if you looking for salad place, this is not the place yo go.
