Over the past few weeks I have been eating at Shawarma King, about once a week and honestly this place doesn't have many negative. The negative is the design of the place, I have been to Lebanese restaurants in Beirut while traveling for work and the place doesn't have a Lebanese look to it. The theme looks more Greek than Lebanese to me. Another thing is the people. The customers there seem to be the party type, I'm sure this changes from hour of the day but meh. But don't get me wrong, this place is still just wonderful, service is just delightful, the people who make your food and service you are possibly some of the best I've met. They give off a humble "started from nothing and turned it into something" type of vibe which makes you feel really good because it makes you feel like they put in their 100% effort to make you the customer feel respected and welcome. The food tastes great, of course I don't try everything from there but from what I have tried, like the shawarma sandwich and to actual plates with different food items, it's all fantastic. The food always tastes fresh and they make sure to always stock up when the item is running low. Only negative is that they sometimes construct the sandwich under par and it ends up breaking, but I have had that happen to me only once or twice so it shouldn't be something to worry about. So to sum it up, atmosphere is like a 8/10 to me due to its less traditional style, customer service is a perfect 10/10 for me hands down, and food is a 9/10 for me. Overall give this place a try you...
Read moreWARNING! WAIT TO BE TREATED LIKE A FOOL! Never have I had good experience with my order (except once, when I ordered over around 46$). I usually make my orders at night. Once I called, asked no rice but potatoes instead in my plate, they filled it with rice, and no potatoes. I couldn't call them back, and the next day I called to tell them about the situation and how it was impossible for them to do anything about it at the previous night's time - guess what the guy's response is? "Next time you place an order, we will give you more potatoes" lol, what a joke! Any other proper management would of offered a better compensation than "extra potato" - I would be too full to eat these extra potatoes.
2nd encounter. I placed an order at 2 am; it is 4 am now, and we called them to see where our order is. They claimed we gave them a wrong phone number (and not the extension), when clearly we told them we are at a hospital, and gave them the extension number. They said they can deliver it back by 4:30 am. Then the lady at the phone asks for the address of the hospital (she didn't ask the first time, we told her the hospital she claimed she knew it). When we tell them the address, she claims its too far (WTH?!?!? we ordered from them before). Anyway, her offer to deliver chicken platter and bbq chicken by 4:30 am was cancelled by us, because it is almost time to go home from our night shift.
Please be very precise and recap everything at the end of your call if you...
Read moreI loved shawarma king. So far I have always ordered a mixed beef and chicken shawarma plate. The dish is delisious having potatoes that are roasted and seasoned well, hummus, salad having actually turnips cough cough Shawarma palace, and the meat was really good. The naans were heated well as well. I gotta say I find the experience here better then shawarma palace. The staff are so cool like they actually talk and engage with u as they are students and it's so fun to talk with them. It's also a family owned business so it's really fun to support a local business. So I find the customer service alot better then shawarma palace. I also feel like the portions they give u are now bigger then u find at shawarma palace. I also loved how the server accommodated my request for extra hot sauce and more saucy unlike the unwelcome feeling I got from shwarma palace. Also I ordered on door dash once and I was shocked after asking them to make it extra saucy they gave me like 3 sauce containers. Sooooo gooood. Like once had garlic, spicy and the other one might have been avoili. I would definitely choose this as my go to shawarma rice place in Ottawa. I was able to eat and get filled up by theix plate I bought for 3 days straight (even tho I also would buy naan to consume and eat as well from Loblaws). Overall I def...
