My family and I are visiting Penticton this week and stopped by this Starbucks on our way to the beach. We went through the drive through which had about 5 cars in front of us. This was absolutely the worst service Iâve ever experienced at a Starbucks location, and I have been a Starbucks customer since 2008/2009
The drive through line took over 20-minutes. Which wouldnât have been so bad if the barista wasnât so blatantly rude. His name is Scott. He didnât apologize for the delay, when we paid I needed to load my Starbucks app with funds, he seemed annoyed by that. Then he gave my husband his drink but didnât give me mine and just closed the window. After waiting for about 5 minutes I waved at him and asked if my drink was coming, and he just said âya, it isâ. No apology for the delay, and no care at all.
After about another 3-4 minutes of waiting in the drive through, with no apology or acknowledgment of the delay, I again waved at Scott and asked if I could have a refund due to how long my drink was taking. He said ya, sure, and went to get the machine to process the refund. Again, no acknowledgement of the delay and no apology for how long it tookâŚ
He then argued with me about the type of payment I used to pay, and eventually rung through the refund. I then asked for his name and we left.

Being a regular Starbucks consumer, I have been able to have some great drinks made and know what they should be. Today I stopped here on my way through town to get my favourite holiday drink. I usually order it no whip so I can appreciate the flavours even more. To my surprise, because I ordered both my drinks no whip, the barista on the bar, left the beverages without the rest of their toppings. My partners drink doesnât require the toppings, but for myself, ordering a salted caramel mocha, and not getting the caramel or salt, really left me disappointed. I didnât say anything as I wasnât sure if the recipe had change. Upon getting back to my car and tasting it, it just was missing the mark. Now I know that next time I will need to make sure I tell the barista to not forget the crucial elements to the drink. She belittled us in front of other customers. she told us that â we have been getting free milk all this time and that Starbucks need to be charging us for it.â She tried to tell us how our drink should be and what we should be charged for like we were trying to cheat the system. There is a way to talk to people and explaining. Not treat customers like they are thieves. I have never been treated like this at any Starbucks. I have alway have had great service at Starbucks.
