🐾 Beau the Bernedoodle’s 5-Paw Review of The Local Public Eatery in Penticton 🐶

Hi there, hoomans! It’s me, Beau the Bernedoodle, your friendly neighbourhood floof, and I just had to bark about my favourite spot in Penticton—The Local Public Eatery! 🐾🍔

Let’s get one thing straight: when Mom & Dad say we’re headed to The Local, my tail starts wagging before they even grab my leash. Their patio is pup-paradise! Shady spots, fresh water bowls, and best of all? Alice brings me BACON. Real. Crispy. Bacon. 🥓 I’m not saying I’m spoiled… but okay yeah, I am.

I also get to sneak a bite or two of burger (thanks, Mom & Dad) and maybe a fry if I give the big Bernedoodle eyes. The smells alone are enough to make a dog swoon.

But the best part? The staff. I love every single one of them, but Celine and Tony —oh boy, they’re my absolute favourites. They always greet me with big smiles, gentle pets, and sometimes even call me by name. I feel like a celebrity!

And while my hoomans chat and enjoy their food, I get to indulge in my own hobby: people-watching. So many interesting folks walk by, and I’m right there at the front of the action, soaking it all in with a happy, slobbery grin.

So from me—Beau the Bernedoodle—it’s a solid 5 paws out of 5. Whether you’re a hooman or a four-legged foodie, this place makes everyone feel welcome.

Can’t wait for my next visit. Don’t forget the bacon, Alice! 😉

We were in town from Ladner for a big dance competition, and staying at the Ramada. The location of Local was so convenient for us, and we decided to try it out.

The patio was amazing, inside was comfortable and had TVs all over which was nice for sports highlights! The pop was free refills, which was nice for the kids. (No kids past 10pm I think?, which is fair!)

The patio was so beautiful, the group of us that wanted sun got to enjoy the sun and the shade was Available also, with their huge umbrellas.

My daughter and I ate here twice. The 1st time I ordered the spicy garlic Edamame, I ate it, but did not like the sauce taste very much, it tasted more like BBQ sauce then spicy garlic! I would not order that again!!!

The next time I ordered the Calabrian Ceasar Salad. I love it, super good! Would definitely recommend and eat that again. You have to like a little spice and eating it with a knife and fork, the lettuce comes whole. Very fresh and delicious.

My daughter had LPE Greens with Blackened chicken. She loved it! She's gluten and dairy free so this was a great option for her!

We shared the Beat hummus. We liked that also and would order it again.

We will likely be back when we come to town...

Very happy they rennovated the place and got rid of the previous decor. It is much more inviting, more open (they removed the centre planter island to open it right up) and warm, while still being modern looking up-to-date and current styling. All the wood just makes the place look fantastic. Opening it up and removing all the clutter also made a huge difference and it is so much better! The new patio is absolutely wonderful. The new outdoor layout and furniture are more functional (the new chairs are easier to move around than those old, huge heavy iron chairs), and more people can sit out there now. There are more umbrellas, thanks! Love the pathways! Misters might be a nice idea (didn't see any so not sure if they have them or not). Not sure if I am a huge fan of only literally only 1 bathroom for the entire bar. When it gets crowded, that could become an issue. The food was delicious! Back to what it used to be - Good food in a great pub atmoshere. Servers were fantastic! Thank you so much!
