We are really thankful to have been given the opportunity to check out loco landing as a family - however I reached out to try and provide some feedback but ultimately was left with my message read and ignored so here I am. The place is quite simple in comparison to other places we have been so there isn’t endless activities to begin with. We took our two young boys and had the adventure passes. They were not tall enough to go on the rope course (as well as too scared to try if they were) so we kindly asked to swap the ropes for another ride on the go carts for them as it’s a same value activity. ($12) Your pass has a spot to check off go carts, mini golf & ropes. They told us it’s against the rules and we would have to go pay for an additional pass to ride the carts again. It’s frustrating that you won’t allow these three activities to be swapped if a kid doesn’t wish to go on the high ropes (or not even physically allowed because of height rules!!) or if they are too scared of the go karts- whatever it may be. The golf ($13) was also so backed up we didn’t even get to it therefore essentially half the pass that day was wasted.
It could be a fun place for younger kids but the functionality is a bit of a mess.
I also messaged the Instagram social account WHILE on the premises about this matter and was left on “read” therefor it could’ve also been figured out that way before I landed here :) No automated message was sent with a number to reach out to! As mentioned, we were very thankful for the opportunity to visit your park! I promoted it all day via social media and this is a really...
Read moreWe drove in from Kelowna to check out this site and hoping for a day of fun for my son. We heard that a daily pass was around $44 dollars for entry/rides, which seemed reasonable if it was a large site with a lot of things to do. So we decided to set out and visit Penticton for the day.
My initial thought was that the parking lot was suspiciously small if it was offering a daily pass to go on various rides, golf, climb, etc. My suspicions were quickly confirmed upon entering the park, whereby you enter and turn your head from left to right and you've seen everything. This made the entire experience feel like a tourist trap ripoff, the prices for the rides are pretty high considering the amount of time you get on the ride itself.
The staff were friendly and the site is clean and well kept. However, those two bright spots aren't enough to get me to come back to what is essentially the same as bouncy castle/jumping platforms at an indoor play area (which cost about the same for a day pass, is inside, and 5 times as large) and go karts, golf, and a climbing wall/zip line apparatus that give you more time and cost less.
My son enjoyed his time in the bouncy castle and on the boat ride, but he enjoyed it just as much when it was at a birthday party or just splashing around in the lake. When it comes down to being a parent I honestly left feeling like I wasted my day and drove 2 hours round trip only to...
Read moreWas planning to take a trip to Penticton for the day to visit Loco Landing after a local mom posted that the owner wanted to spread the word to Kelowna residents. I checked their website which stated masks mandatory in certain areas, okay fair enough. But age was not specified, so I texted as per the contact info on the website. To my complete shock, ages 2 and up are mandated to wear masks at Loco Landing OUTSIDE in the Okanagan heat while bouncing and running around. The owner beat around the bush a little and made it sound as if it weren't his own rule, but trying to insinuate that it was Interior Health's rule. After I shared the BC government's restrictions that children under 12 are not required to wear masks indoor (even though this is an outdoor facility), the owner sent me a rude text that he stands by his decision. He also told me that LOCO LANDING IS NOT THE RIGHT FIT FOR MY FAMILY TO VISIT...discrimination!
He gave me the number to his Interior Health rep who confirmed that Loco Landing made this decision on their own, and yes they think its a good idea but it is ultimately up to the owner. When I asked who is held liable when children are passing out from covering their faces with masks while running around at a children's park, she confirmed that the owner would be held...
