Public Safety Concern at McDonald’s – Appeal on Behalf of Local Residents I’m writing on behalf of the residents at the apartment buildings directly across the street from this McDonald’s. We are the owners and property managers of these buildings, which are home to over 30 families—more than 75 people in total, including many children. Several residents have expressed deep concerns about the current state of the McDonald’s property. Many of them would like to enjoy visiting McDonald’s with their families, but they are afraid to do so due to the ongoing presence of individuals openly using drugs, loitering, and harassing paying customers on the premises. This behavior begins the moment they step into the parking lot and continues until they leave the restaurant. Despite our efforts to bring this issue to McDonald’s attention, including contacting management directly, there appears to be little to no willingness to address or even acknowledge the problem. In some cases, we’ve observed that free food, water, and phone calls are being given out to individuals who are clearly not paying customers, often at the expense of the comfort and safety of those who are. We are now appealing to the public for support. If you know someone affiliated with McDonald’s—whether it be the owner, a manager, or someone within corporate leadership—please encourage them to take responsibility for the condition of their property and restore it to a place where local families feel welcome and safe. This is not just a matter of customer service—it’s a matter of community safety. Attached below are screenshots of the individuals openly using drugs on the McDonald’s property, as well as copies of the emails I have sent to management—specifically to Johnny, the manager of this location. I have also spoken with Deepak, the store manager, who has acknowledged the problem and expressed concern for the safety of his staff. It is clear that even McDonald’s employees feel unsafe at their own workplace, which speaks volumes about the severity of this issue. This situation has become a significant hazard in our neighborhood. Every other business in the surrounding area is doing their part to improve and maintain a clean, safe environment for customers and staff. McDonald’s, however, continues to allow conditions on its property to deteriorate—placing not only its customers but also the entire community at risk. McDonald’s brands itself as a family restaurant, but this location has not reflected those values for years. It is not a family-safe environment, and that must change. We will not stop advocating until this McDonald’s location takes meaningful action to restore its property to a standard that aligns with its core mission as a family-friendly establishment. The community is watching, and we are holding McDonald’s accountable.

Serious Safety Concerns at Your McDonald’s Location on Angus Street To Whom It May Concern, I intended to visit your McDonald’s today for a coffee, but as I approached the property, I encountered two heroin needles directly on site. I immediately felt unsafe. In addition to this, I observed multiple individuals openly using drugs and significant amounts of garbage scattered around the premises. This is deeply concerning. McDonald’s is meant to be a family-friendly restaurant, yet the current environment at this location does not reflect that standard. We own and manage the apartment blocks directly behind your establishment, where 75 families reside. Many of these residents—parents with young children, seniors, and working professionals—have told us they actively avoid your location because of the visible drug use and unsafe atmosphere. These are families who would like to support your business but currently feel they cannot do so safely. I am attaching photo evidence of the needles found today. This issue cannot continue to be ignored. We urge you to take immediate steps to improve safety and cleanliness around your establishment. At a minimum, we ask that you: • Enforce strict no loitering policies on your property. • Take meaningful action against open drug use on or near your premises. • Instruct security staff to prevent individuals from sitting or lingering near the Angus Street side of the property. • Increase regular cleanups to remove hazardous materials such as needles and garbage. The community is asking for change. We are hopeful that McDonald’s management will step up and restore this location into the safe, welcoming space it is meant to be. Sincerely, Michelle Plett (On behalf of the residents at 1440 & 1450 Angus Street)

About the food and their taste: I have absolutely no complaints. However in terms of service quality: It was really bad. I believe this not only happened to me personally, but many other customers as well. The waiting time at this McDonalds branch has happened to me on many visits. It must be said that its prime location makes the number of visitors always overloaded, but the management and restaurant owners seem to only care about profit, which must be put first priority by hiring a very small number of staff. I even tried asking a staff member when pointing to the "We are hiring" sign placed at a restaurant: "Are you looking to hire more people?". However, the manager then replied to me that the restaurant currently only hire part-time positions and has no need for full-time recruitment. That said, the manager and restaurant owner are willing to keep customers waiting, but have no intention of hiring more staff. Also, be ready with the drive-thru closed without notice, even after dine-in hours after 9 pm

I am writing to report a disappointing experience I had at your location on September 5th, 2024, around 11:52 PM. The lack of professionalism from the staff, particularly the order taker and the girl at the drive-thru window, was shocking and unacceptable.

First, when I placed my order, I requested a Diet Coke with a $5 McValue Meal, but the order taker was unable to add the Diet Coke under that promotion. Rather than seeking help or offering an alternative, he flat-out told me that they didn’t have what I wanted, which was untrue and led me to consider leaving without making a purchase. Given that I was on a tight schedule, this lack of problem-solving wasted my time and forced me to go to the window for clarification.

When I arrived at the window, I spoke with the girl who was serving there and explained the situation. She confirmed that the items I requested were available, but her attitude was rude and unhelpful. When I asked her for the name of the person who took my order, she flatly refused and said, “I won’t tell you, and you can do whatever you want.” This response is completely unacceptable, especially when customers expect transparency and respect.

To make matters worse, none of the employees were wearing name badges or proper uniforms, which raises concerns about management oversight at this location. The girl at the window even went so far as to threaten me, saying that if I left a review, she would refuse to serve me in the future. I frequent this McDonald’s around the same time every night, and this behavior is beyond unprofessional.

In times of economic recession, jobs are precious, and it’s frustrating to see employees take theirs for granted by behaving this way. I strongly urge management to take immediate action and retrain staff on proper customer service, as well as ensure that employees adhere to uniform and name badge policies.

This kind of experience discourages loyal customers from returning, and I hope management takes this...

I recently visited the McDonald's and I have to say I was quite impressed with two things in particular: the coffee and the bathrooms. McDonald’s coffee has definitely come a long way over the years, and this location consistently brews a great cup. I tried their regular coffee as well as a latte on different visits, and both were surprisingly delicious, with a rich, smooth flavor. It’s not often you find a fast-food coffee that tastes this fresh, and for the price, it's definitely a bargain.

The bathrooms are another plus here. It's small details like this that make a difference in customer satisfaction, especially for travelers or anyone looking for a reliable stop.

Overall, I would recommend this McDonald's for a quick coffee break or even a restroom stop on a road trip. With its friendly staff, quality coffee, and well-kept facilities, this location goes above and beyond what you’d typically expect from a fast-food chain.

Walking in, I was pleased with the welcoming atmosphere—the decor was simple but inviting, and the place was relatively clean. The staff was friendly enough, though they didn’t go out of their way to be particularly attentive or engaging. Service was a bit slow, especially since the restaurant wasn’t very crowded. It took a while for someone to take our order, and even longer for the food to arrive, which was surprising given the modest crowd.

As for the food, it was fine but nothing to write home about. The menu had a decent variety of options, so everyone in my group found something they liked. I ordered the [Dish Name], which was cooked as expected but lacked a bit of flavour. It wasn’t bad, just a little underwhelming. The portions were fair for the price, but the presentation was pretty basic.

Overall, it's an okay spot if you're in the area and looking for a standard meal. It’s not going to blow you away, but it will satisfy your hunger without breaking the bank. I might come back if I'm nearby, but I wouldn’t go out of...
