Running a food business is not easy. The staff that night at OJ proved this, again.
The treatment my friend and I got was the poorest ever. Was it because it was too late in the night? Or was it because the staff was tired, or may be it was nearing the closing time. I am no one to judge. But this review is about my last visit few nights ago.
We enter! It’s about midnight. A very loud atmosphere inside greeted us. There was just one young woman sitting at the bar. The whole place was empty otherwise. We waited, the lady on the bar chair took notice of us; but there were no greetings exchanged.
We waited, no one would show up, we waited for more than 10 long minutes. We even walked to the kitchen door and while peeping in we made it obvious that we were there.
Still nothing.
After waiting for few more minutes, now this young lady who was at the bar, jumped into action and barged into the kitchen. It was then we were attended.
Have nothing to say any more. We had our meal and walked away; in fact drove away during the very windy and snowy times. It felt like the nature was also not pleased with...
Read moreDecided to give this restaurant a try. I’m from the states and I wanted something nicer than most of the other restaurants in Regina. The decor was very nice as were the staff. The staff was a bit slow with taking our order and ensuring our overall needs were met. Our food was delivered (fish tacos and the fish and chips), the food was plated well and it looked delicious. Unfortunately, the fish tacos had a microscopic amount of fish on them and there was literally 2 inches of lettuce under each taco. Not only were the tacos very bland, they were ice cold. The fish and chips looked great too...but the fish was tasteless. The best part of our dishes were the French fries (McDonald’s has pretty good fries too). The one shining light to the experience was the nachos, they were great. I would not recommend this eatery to anyone. The price rage for soft drinks, nachos, fish tacos and fish and chips...$81.03. I might expect more out of a restaurant than most of their visitors. In the south, we have bold flavors and we use salt...the food we were served just had no pop. Bland...
Read moreWe have always enjoyed this Original Joe's in the past because of their attention to detail about my wife's severe gluten allergy. She has a very specific order that includes only ordering mashed potatoes as the other side dishes can not be assured of being contaminated. We ordered a pick up order and were specific about the extent of the allergy to discover at home that the mashed potatoes specific to her meal were covered in panko which are NOT gluten free. The remainder of the three meals we ordered had fries or were pasta so it was not a case of having multiple mashed potatoes and getting it mixed up. As she had ordered this exact meal multiple times in the past this panic addition to the mashed potatoes was a huge surprise. When we called to confirm the only form of make it better was being offered to re-make the meal. This solution would have been 20-30 minutes while our other three meals got cold at home or we didn't get to eat together as a family. We have a short list of places we order from do to this allergy and sadly it just...
