Thought we'd try the Papa Johns on South Albert. Ordered a 'The Works' online, original crust but extra cheese for pickup. Ordering was simple and easy. Pizza was ready quickly and pickup was friendly and smooth. However, none of us really liked the pizza. The crust was tough and hard to chew or cut, the sauce didn't seem to have much flavour--or maybe it was just a bit skimpy. The toppings were good, though heavy on what seemed like banana peppers even though they're not listed on the description. Overall, the cheese quantity was what I'd expect if you DIDN'T order extra cheese. We felt the crust recipe was lacking enough olive oil to give it a tender/crisp texture. I think this is the best pizza joint in town right now. It is a very typical type of pizza, but they do it best. They also seem to have a great culture too. Their delivery drivers are always pleasant to deal with. They are on time. The app has some wicked deals and works very well. I typically order early in the day for a 5PM delivery, and they have only been late once and it wasn't by much but the delivery driver was very apologetic.
