Shi MiaoDao Yunnan Rice Noodle (Richmond Hill) 十秒到云南过桥米线 — Restaurant in Richmond Hill

I had no expectations going to this place w/ a friend. It's in the same plaza as Isaan Der Thai and Chi Star House.

The first thing we noticed is that the resto doesn't get many customers (perhaps most ppl coming to this plaza are visiting the aforementioned places cuz they have a LOT of business).

Anyways, we just walked in and sat at a table. Didn't have to wait at all.

I ordered braised beef brisket noodle soup while my friend ordered a chicken and fish maw noodle soup.

My noods were egg noodles, his were rice noodles.

Both of us thought the noodles were just ok. The soup base also didn't have any real flavour going on. It tasted like chicken bouillon with added sauce.

If you factor in value, price and taste, this place honestly can't compete with Deer Garden or Yunshang. You get a bigger bowl of noodles at those places, the price is the same and the kicker is those places have better textured noodles AND better tasting broths. The one positive I guess I COULD give them is that they did give me a decent amount of beef brisket (a lot of places skimp).

if this place isn't on your radar, it should be! I went here my first day on my trip in the GTA, and HOLY MOLY!!! I was blown away. I even had a dream about these noodles because they were so good. I've never had anything like this. all the mix ins... the corn, luncheon meat, fungus, quail egg... it all made so much sense. it was one of the most enjoyable foods I've had.

I went here again on the last day of my trip, and oh boy, I wasn't disappointed. it was just as good as I remembered. both times I also got the mix fruit tea-- I highly recommend as the fruit and the tea help with the heat (both temperature and spice).

I'm really sad that I don't have this restaurant near me. it's just phenomenal. if you can, go here! it is delicious and you won't be...

Worst dinning experience ever in Toronto.

Last time I visited the restaurant and ordered the Fish Waw(should be Maw, but the menu said Waw, huh?)and Chicken Rice Noodle Soup (花胶雞米線) from their menu, only to find that there was no Fish Maw in the dish. When I raised this concern with their server, they said just the SOUP was made with Fish Maw, but this crucial detail was not mentioned in the dish's name or description. I was expected that the fish maw should be apparently in the dish and I can eat it instead of the soup was made by fish maw. Plus the server's response was dismissive and unprofessional.

Such misleading menu descriptions and poor customer service are...
