Located in the bustling Yaohan Centre mall, A Whole Mango is a spot that promises to satisfy your sweet cravings with their array of mango-based drinks and milk teas. However, while their flavors may be enticing, the overall experience falls a bit short due to a few hiccups in service and value.
We ordered the Mango Lover drink and the Honeycomb Toffee Milk Tea. The mango smoothie was pretty good, with a taste that truly seemed like they blended an entire mango into the drink. However, it's worth noting that this is a treat that could be easily replicated at home. As for the Honeycomb Toffee Milk Tea, the sweetness was a bit overwhelming, even for those with a sweet tooth. The caramelized layer on top was an interesting touch, but ultimately, the drink was just too sugary.
One of the main issues we encountered at A Whole Mango was the wait time, which clocked in at around 25 minutes. The cashier appeared overwhelmed by the number of orders and frequently disappeared into the back. When our order was finally ready, we had to grab a different staff member's attention to collect it, as the person handling the till did not call out order numbers.
A Whole Mango's menu is simple, and while they offer a 2-for-1 deal, the prices still lean towards the expensive side. However, the location within the mall and ample parking make it an accessible spot to try.
In conclusion, while their mango smoothie is tasty and their location is convenient, the customer service and overall value could use some improvements. It's worth trying at least once, but there are certainly areas where the experience could be enhanced to truly make it a go-to destination for...
Read moreThings looked good until I actually tasted it, was expecting a whole mango as their slogan says but nope. Lol
The drink that was buy one get one half off, definitely was not a whole mango, way too watery and saw them add sugar in the blender, if it's fresh whole mango , don't think there is a need to? The outcome was okay, too sweet for me but definitely not going to try again since there were minimal mango in the so called a whole mango. It was probably one mango for 3 to 4 drinks? They do add some mango pieces but don't think it adds up to a whole mango. Also note, there is a tiny amount of pomelo at the top, nothing in the drink.
Note that the cashier was quite sketchy and rude. When I asked for half a pound of chestnut, she put in 1lb without saying anything and when I corrected her she was like yeah it's half pound and tried to argue with me for some reason so I was like okay sure. Receipts comes out, it was a pound. It was 50% off so I didn't want to fight it. But next person ordered half pound, she insisted them to get a pound. Lol. no note of requiring 1lb for the discount so I should be able to buy half a pound right?
When we tried the Chestnut, it was tiny and very hard to crack open with bare hands. It doesn't have traditional roasted chestnut aroma. Lastly, more than half of it tasted very weird and hard. I don't need to try again...
Sketchy slogan, sketchy tactic to sell you more chestnut. Not going...
Read moreI got the mango lover drink, and it was wonderful, although I'm not convinced that they use a whole mango for a drink. Looking at it it really doesn't seem like they do.
Aside from that the service is not very good, I waited about 15 minutes for my drink, which is not invasive considering they take a lot of online orders and they're doing a ton of drinks. The problem comes when they're drink counter doesn't work. You can see from my picture that they don't use their drink number counter. And they also don't call out your drinks, every customer in line including myself have to go to the window and ask for the drink. So you don't know when it's actually ready, especially if you don't know what your drink looks like, you're just looking at a bunch of drinks on a table you don't even know if that's one of yours or if it's even ready. So we all had to ask, and present our tickets to get our drinks. Unfortunately due to this my drink just sat on the counter. It would be ideal if your counter doesn't work that you would call out the numbers. But unfortunately seems like there's a lack of education for how to organize this sort of thing here. I believe it's because most of these people have never worked in the service industry so give them a bit of slack, but unfortunately they've done this long enough that they should know...
