I’ve been ordering here over the years occasionally, it’s always been good not amazing, but good.
Yesterday I ordered butter chicken, paneer naan, paneer pakora… I try to order mint chutney and there was no button for it, I searched multiple times, so finally I give up and modify an item to ask for mint chutney. I added a 10% tip to make up for it because I only tip on takeout in person if I feel like it was a very pleasant encounter. When I arrive the server says, ‘you should have ordered it and paid for it but this time I will give it to you for free… I said I tried to online it didn’t give me the option?! She smirks thinking I’m trying to get something for free… if you are going to make such comments, please be sure that it is indeed possible. I looked again just now on their online ordering system and couldnt find the option…
As for the food… the butter chicken sauce was a very dark colour. They did not use enough cream. Flavour was ok but missing the cream. I’ve ordered it before and this time it was not what it should be at all… if you are getting butter chicken you expect a certain level of creaminess to the dish, sorry it’s what the dish is supposed to be!
The paneer naan barely had any paneer in it. And was so thin it had holes in it. The portion size of the butter naan and paneer naan was very small in comparison to what it should be.
Lastly, I awoke to multiple trips to the washroom at 3 am and could not go back to sleep… this is unlike me on my normal diet so it leads me to believe there’s were potential bacterial issues with the food, not severe enough to be full blown food poisoning, but you know what I mean.
I noticed you renovated recently? I HIGHLY reccomend you don’t try to offset your renovation funds by cutting costs to the food. Yes paneer and cream is insanely expensive these days… but still you are a restaurant and food quality is everything, cutting corners with food quality is how you lose customers, plain and simple.
A $43 meal that’s supposed to last me 2 meals, is now going in the garbage. I will not be back, I will be picking up Indian at ginger...
Read moreRelationship ruined with bad Uber Eats experience (tipped driver $7 and you get this). We decided to treat ourselves to a nice Friday meal and ordered delivery. After the food was late arriving, we were hungrily anticipating our meal. We started opening the containers and getting our serving spoons set up, we open the Chicken Byrani and instantly realized something was off. A good portion or two had been removed or portions were seriously getting smaller. We called Best Bite to see what was going on, they said they would send out a replacement Chicken Biryani, Lol, we had the old Chicken Biryani sitting by the door with another tip, $5 and the replacement never arrived. Luckily we made some plain rice after waiting for a while. We were thinking after, this wasn't really on Best Bite if an Uber driver ate their food after it left their restaurant, but don't say you're going to send a replacement if you are not and maybe seal delivery bags so contents can't be easily tampered with before they arrive at their destination. Just...
Read moreWhat a terrible restaurant! I've never come across an Indian restaurant that drenches their dishes in sooo much oil! Some dishes are always more oily than others. But for chole masala? That's the most non-oily dish. When I opened the lid, the oil was 2cm deep on top of the dish. I literally poured out the oil on to the lid and then some and then I tried to taste one chole but it was inedible because of the oil so I just threw the whole thing out. I'm attaching the picture. Take a look at that oil. And this is after I asked for less oil and the lady said that they would definitely do it. I can't imagine what their regular preparation looks like. Even the other dishes I'd ordered from them -- okra and vegetable curry were drenched in oil. So ridiculous. Who prepares food like this. First and last time ordering from here.
If you go to this restaurant, you can bid goodbye to...
