We spent 5 days in Richmond for our anniversary and this place is hands down the best food we had. It's eye-popping good. There are hundreds of other places to eat in Richmond but Converge was so good we thought - numerous times - about going again. The wait staff was great, the chef happy, and the patrons all smiles. We started with pork dumplings and were speechless after the first bite. They were obviously fresh and handmade, but the flavor explosion overwhelmed that aspect. It's the only dumpling we've had that didn't need a dipping sauce. We also got hot and sour soup and the stir fried spicy pork. The soup was a big portion and had a depth of flavor you only get from homemade, yet didn't stray far from what a traditional hot and sour soup is. The spicy pork simply blew my mind. Absolutely loved this place! The staff here are incredibly friendly and warm — they really make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The food is super authentic and delicious, with generous portions that are great for sharing.

The Guo Bao Rou (sweet and sour pork) is a must-try — perfectly balanced sweet and tangy flavor with a light, crispy coating that’s just the right thickness. It’s crunchy but not overcooked.

The spicy chicken stir-fry is packed with flavor — the chicken is tender and clearly marinated well, spicy but not overpowering.

The dry tofu with green chili peppers is super fresh, with a unique white pepper aroma that really elevates the dish.

And the cold noodles (Liangpi) are tangy, spicy, and refreshing — the perfect palate cleanser that whets your appetite.

First off, you need a tremendous patience here 'cause it takes forever until you get all your ordered plates. The intervals between plates, one after the other, were so painfully long (at least 20 minutes) that basically we were finishing one dish and then the next, rather than enjoying them altogether. And the staff aren't necessarily rude or unfriendly but it's so hard to get served since they're always up to something behind the counter but never around you. Finally, the food wasn't up to expectations nor was it worth the time we spent waiting.
