The food here is honestly pretty good. The burger and soup were delicious. But the biggest issue I had here was that there were countless tiny bugs/flies floating on my soup. At first they looked like little black specks and I didn’t really notice them, but after drinking a quarter of the bowl of soup, I looked closer and found that they all had WINGS and LEGS. Then I saw another. And another. They were big, small, dead, squished and floating all over my soup EVERYWHERE. And I was horrified because I had already drank so much of it. They must have come from the bok choy vegetables in the soup, since these types of bugs are commonly found in vegetables.
I showed it to the lady at the cashier who had a look, admitted they were probably bugs from vegetables. She apologised and asked if I wanted a new bowl or a refund, to which I promptly responded a refund. She brings the soup back into the kitchen and another Chinese man (not sure if it’s the owner) comes out and silently processes my refund without a word of apology… without saying anything at all, which was a little strange to me. This cold attitude plus the bugs in my soup… safe to say, I will not be back.
I have nothing bad to say about the flavours of their food, however if their vegetables are not washed properly, it makes me wonder about their kitchen hygiene & the treatment of the rest of the foods that they serve. Good luck to anyone who decides to...
Read moreIf I lived in Richmond, I'd be here non- stop. From what I've studied about the region, this food was authentic and did not let me down. It far exceeded my expectations and what's even better is the family who runs it. English menus are made easily available and the family is friendly and able to suggest their favourite dishes. I was given a very ample sized dessert sample which is made fresh daily from rice, red beans and dates. Not too sweet. Just perfect and very fresh. The crispy bun was indeed crispy on the outside but light in weight and filled with succulent pork with just the right amount of flavor and a couple drips of oil for good measure. It had me checking the bag it came in to make sure no pieces were left behind. Best of all where the glorious hand made noodles which I'll be thinking of for days to come. Perfect texture with just the right amount of chew. As full as I became, I didn't want to finish my dish as I was in my happy place the entire time. I can't recommend this place enough. Fresh, authentic and friendly. Both my tummy and my soul are nourished. I am so happy I...
Read moreWe found this gem completely by accident and what a happy surprise it was. It’s a humble little food stall tucked away on the main floor of President’s Plaza, run by the sweetest family. The owners were so kind and welcoming. When they saw us hesitating over the menu, they brought out a larger tablet with photos to help us decide, which was such a thoughtful touch.
We ended up ordering the Biang Biang noodles and the Beef Crispy Burger. Both were absolutely delicious. The noodles are handmade to order, so they take a little longer, but honestly, they’re so worth the wait. We happily snacked on the beef burgers while we waited, and everything tasted fresh and full of flavor.
This is definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to time and time again. It’s one of those hidden treasures you’re just so glad you...
