So last weekend something happened to me. Before you all get worried, let me tell you some background information. In the spring, my son quit karate. His dream all his life was to be a ninja. When his karate instructor told him that kids these days aren’t making a living from becoming a ninja, he lost all motivation to pursue his passion. Last weekend, I went to Cohens with my son, Parker. Our waitress, Emmalee Davis, took our orders and promptly submitted them to the kitchen to be prepared. Now, most of the time, that’s the extent of a waitresses job duties. Not Emmalee. She could feel the sadness in my sons aura. She returned to my table and asked how we were doing today. Parker explained that he was feeling down and advised he was missing karate. The next thing I knew, Emmalee embarked on what I can only describe as an “act of God.” She gave my son a life lesson he will never forget. My lack of time prevents me from sharing Emmalee’s wisdom, but she somehow convinced my son to rejoin karate - a feat I’d been attempting for months. Emmalee I don’t know how you did it.
