The service is less than good, but the food and handeling of issues top the inexperience and unprofessional behaviour of the staff. The scotch egg, the meat was so dry that it shrank away from the batter, but the egg yolk was still proper at runny. The meat tasted like beef and not pork as it is sold and the fat content is severely lacking which gives good reason to why it was so dry and undesirable. When cut into it broke into separate pieces and was a mess. The worst scotch egg i have ever had. The wings... First time were skinny and not impressive to look at but the flavour was smokie and buttery with an amazing taste... Till i found a hair on my second wing attached to one that was black and very long. And fried into the wing. The waiter/bartender said i will have new ones out to you in five min. 25 min later i asked if they were coming as many tables had wings being served around me but my new ones were not presented. She went back and came out saying they were missed. Almost 35 min later i got my replacement wings to which were so incredibly salty it could have been anything as all it tasted like was salt. No compensation was offered to my initial issue and after waiting so long the offer of my cheepest beverage being removed from the bill was all that was done. All the girls working could spend less time giggling at the end of the bar talking about personal crap and how happy they are they dont have to come into this "dump" for the weekend was a clear reflection as to why the service was so bad. The potential is there but consistency and service is the biggest road block to their success. Very disappointing as it was on my list for some good reviews but clearly tonight that was...

I can't say enough about The Rook and Raven. I've lived in Saskatoon my whole life and I am dissapointed that I have not come here sooner. I ordered the Bourbon Pecan Chicken Roulade, thoroughly enjoyed it, and would absolutely order it again. The portion was a healthy size; along with half of the Scotch eggs for an appy and a brownie for dessert, I was filled slightly past comfortable.

Every part of this meal had a depth of flavor rarely achieved, much less in a pub setting. The extra step is taken in all aspects, from the candied pecans on the brownie paired with local Homestead ice cream, to the subtle crunch on the breading of the Scotch eggs.

I've found my new go-to eatery, and recommend all to give it a try. From burgers and housemade chips to plates full of stuffed chicken and roast veggies, The Rook and Raven has something for all pallets.

Expect to pay fair price for your quality meal and you won't be dissapointed. Regretfully i did not take any photos of the excellent presentation to share, as I was too wrapped up in the great,...

I had the absolute pleasure of being served by one of the standout team members at The Rook & Raven in Saskatoon—a taller women named Jess whose presence alone brings a warm, welcoming energy to the entire room. From the moment we sat down, they struck the perfect balance between professional and personable. Friendly without being overbearing, attentive without hovering—genuinely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the city.

What really stood out was how effortlessly they anticipated what we needed before we even asked. Drinks topped up, excellent menu recommendations, and a sharp sense of timing that made everything flow seamlessly. They clearly take pride in both their work and the guest experience, which speaks volumes about the culture at The Rook & Raven.

If you have the chance to be served by them—consider yourself lucky. Their service elevated our night from just a casual meal to something memorable. Can’t wait...

Okay, Saskatoon! We stopped into this pub because it was downtown (near our hotel). And we were so surprised but how lovely everything it was. The atmosphere is a great vibe, there are plenty of tables & chairs (from bar seating to booths), music wasn't too loud, and the servers were great. The menu is pretty stacked, and the portions are large (so bring an appetite!). There is some street parking in the area, but of course, it's downtown, so you may have to walk a little bit depending on the spots you can find. The pub itself is disability/wheelchair friendly - there is a small portion of tables/chairs up some stairs in the back, but you can stay on the main floor with access to the bathrooms, etc. We will definitely come back next time we are in town. I highly recommend trying one of their signature drinks (from their large bar menu), the pretzel appetizer, and the bacon mac & cheese main dish.

I heard good things about this place and then read the pride review. I still came for the smoked chicken sandwich and walked in and saw pride flags. Granted, this was after the owner responded but action was taken. You do find owners responding to comments but rarely do you see action being taken immediately or ever. This was quick to rectify. The service from Tristan and Meaghan was great and the food was equally as good. You can't please all the people all the time but the owner cares, obviously. I'll be happy to return when back in the city. And I'm actually here watching Edmonton/Florida in case anyone thinks I'm working for the restaurant. And if you want a negative, I did unfortunately have a piece of cartlidge in my chicken sandwich which I didn't particularly love.
