Hudsons Saskatoon — Restaurant in Saskatoon

It's not often I write bad reviews, but the last couple visits haven't been great (last night was horrendous). I've been going to Hudson's off and on since it opened in Saskatoon, and the first few years, they arguably had the best service in Saskatoon for a bar/pub setting. Lately, it seems management has been lacking, as the bartenders weren't the most attentive, and our server last night was downright neglegent while standing at our table. She over charged my friend for a flight of drinks, only served my partner 2 out of the 3 beers for his flight, and never asked how she can rectify it, and then blatantly ignored me and walked away when I was going to order a drink. My partner ended up asking for another beer to complete his flight, and she brought him an entire pint, which at this point, we assumed she likely was going to charge him for the entire pint. I'm pretty understanding when it comes to people maybe having a bad day, or just not being on their game, but at the rate this girl was going, she never should have come to work if this was the case. At the end of our visit, I asked to speak to the manager, and the manager was apologetic and said it was the waitresses first time serving on her own. I told the manager this didn't excuse the fact that she was blatantly rude and uncooperative throughout our time there. I would also suggest that they don't make someone on their first shift alone, work on a Saturday during a playoff hockey game. In the past at Hudsons, I've had staff help rectify a problem by offering a drink on the house, or taking a percentage off the bill, but there wasn't any compensation for the awful service. I won't be going out of my way to return. I hope the waitress has a better understanding of her job in the days to come, as to not subject another group of customers to this, and I hope management improves...

My friend and I came to this place to have a meal on this sunny afternoon, particularly their French fries and fish. Originally we did not have plans on coming to this pub we picked up an order and branched to eat because the food is tasty!!!

Alas! we were asked for our IDs, I had mine but my friend who is a guy left his at home he even had a picture of it on his phone, and I was trying to let the manager know that this is our third time in their hub I have videos to prove that we were allowed in, and it’s just a coincidence that he left his ID at home. Alas she said she won’t use the video or need it as proof in a dismissive way, my friend claimed he is not under 20 she said that it does not matter they use ID and the person must be above 20 years, within 20-25years of age very ridiculous!!!

Alas we were made to leave, I came back again to explain that I just really have cravings of their fish and chips, can I have a plate and he sits with me in the hub while eating, she still insisted that you will be needing an ID to have a seat in the hub, another very discriminating point!!! I had to leave because it was getting embarrassing!!

If you don’t want to attend to a particular set of people clearly state it on your website or outside so innocent people don’t have to go through this kind...

Update : the manger reached out to me to rectify the situation and look into it. Very professional and concerned . After all I will go again and I firmly believe now this was just a bad day and he took all my concerns seriously ! As I love it there , I’ll def be back now to give it another go and keep my tradition alive ! Thank you !

disappointed . I live in Regina and make a point to come here every few months as we don’t have one . If I come for a concert or anything I always plan food at Hudson’s . This time was different . Server was working the bar we waited so long for drinks and services . Ceasar salad literally had no sauce had to ask them to bring sauce . I ordered a aide poutine with my meal it has a splash of gravy and like 2 cheese curds ... really ?! there were flies flying all over the place . They had the big deck door open and it was plus 37. Was hot and sweaty while we ate . Why can’t you keep door shut if we want to eat outside we will. Or sometimes I at inside to avoid flies all over my food and then move outside for sun and drinks . Flies all over me and my food . Awful Experience . I think I’ll try somewhere else and break my tradition when I come in....
