My husband and I dined for the first time at this location back in June, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. We’ve always loved the Old Spaghetti Factory at other locations across different provinces for its excellent customer service, but this time the service didn’t live up to the high standards we’re used to.
Our server, Kailyn, was inattentive and seemed rushed the entire time. When we were ready to order, we had to flag down someone else to let her know we were ready (she was standing by the bar chatting with a co-worker). To make matters worse, while we were still eating, she kept coming by asking if we were ready to pay. I told her I was still waiting for my dessert, but she didn’t seem to listen. Even while I was eating my dessert, she asked again if we were ready to pay. I asked her politely to let us finish our food, but she just turned around without saying anything.
The table beside us had a server who was attentive and polite. I didn’t get her name but she was a short-haired girl with glasses, and her service was exactly what we expected from this restaurant. Kailyn, on the other hand, had zero customer service skills. She seemed like she was in a rush to get us out, even though there were other guests still being seated and ordering.
Also, when I asked for milk for my coffee, they brought it in a regular glass water glass, which was so strange. Normally, they provide a small cup specifically for milk.
It’s disappointing that this location doesn’t maintain the same standards as the other Old Spaghetti Factory locations we've visited. Kailyn could definitely benefit from some lessons in customer service. We will likely return to other locations, but this one didn’t live up to the reputation of The Old Spaghetti Factory that we...
Read moreWe are from out of town, and arrived at The Spaghetti Factory for dinner on Saturday evening.
We were seated immediately, and our server (Riley?) was lovely and attentive. There were no issues with receiving drinks or taking orders.
The food came out in a timely manner. Three of us were happy with the entrees we had ordered - one seafood fettuccine and two bbq ribs. Unfortunately, one person requested the 8 oz. New York steak. It was immediately noticed how thin the meat was. As we delved into our meals, the person having the steak dinner noticed that at least half of the 'sad looking' piece of meat was gristle - and totally inedible.
When our server came over to ask how things were, it was mentioned and shown to her. She then advised that she would let her manager and there cook know.
As the rest of the table finished fair meals, no one came to our table regarding the issue. Our plates were cleared away and we had our coffee and ice cream.
When it was time to pay the bill, we asked if she did in fact advise her manager and she reported that she had.
We were very disappointed in the one meal. If steak is on your menu, it should be a decent and edible piece of meat. The gristle and inedible chunks left on the plate clearly show that it was not.
As well, if you have a customer that has a concern brought to your attention, it should be dealt with immediately - and not disregarded.
We all left your establishment feeling we certainly didn't get what we paid for - or what was advertised on your menu.
We were very...
Read moreThe Old Spaghetti Factory in Saskatoon is an absolute delight for anyone who loves hearty, comforting Italian cuisine served in a charming, nostalgic setting. From the moment you walk in, the warm, inviting atmosphere — complete with antique lighting, stained glass windows, and the iconic trolley car — makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal.
The menu is full of classic Italian favorites, and every dish I tried was prepared with care and flavor. The spaghetti with Mizithra cheese and browned butter is simple yet perfectly balanced, while the lasagna is rich, cheesy, and satisfying in every bite. I also loved the pesto linguine, bursting with fresh basil and just the right touch of creaminess, and the chicken Alfredo with mushroom and mascarpone ravioli was decadent and comforting. Every meal comes with hot sourdough bread, a choice of soup or salad, and a sweet treat, making it a full and satisfying experience.
The staff are attentive, friendly, and make you feel welcome from start to finish. Portions are generous, flavors are consistently excellent, and the overall experience combines great food with a unique, family-friendly ambiance.
Whether you’re craving a classic pasta dish, a cozy dinner with family, or a nostalgic dining experience, The Old Spaghetti Factory is a must-visit. It’s warm, inviting, and absolutely unforgettable — I can’t...
