We recently visited Punjab Sweets & Restaurant for their brunch buffet and have mixed feelings about the experience. The Good: • Food Quality: Excellent! The flavors were authentic and fresh—definitely a 10/10. • Item Variation: The buffet had a fantastic selection for breakfast, earning another 10/10. • Dessert: The highlight was the rasmalai, which was absolutely delicious and a standout item. The Not-So-Good: • Refill Frequency: While the food was great, the wait times for refills were disappointing. We had to wait a long time for luchi and papad, which brought the experience down a notch. The Dealbreaker: What really soured the visit was the pricing discrepancy. The website clearly lists the buffet price as $16 CAD, but we were charged $19+ CAD. When we inquired about this, the staff brushed it off without offering an explanation or an apology. This lack of accountability and customer service was frustrating and felt deceptive. Final Thoughts: While the food was undeniably good, the lack of transparency about pricing and the unprofessional handling of the situation left a bad taste. If you’re planning a visit, don’t trust the website’s pricing—it’s misleading. For this reason, we’re giving it 3/5 stars despite the excellent food quality.

On our first visit , to this restaurant which was months ago , the food and service impressed us so much that we not only would visit and order for pickup but recommended the place to our family and friends. Unfortunately, the food quality has gone downhill (the lahori chicken doesn’t taste the same at all) and the chole bhature are never fresh ( last 3 visits were a disappointment) . The last straw was yesterday morning- we ordered channe bhature and poori halwa. Bhature were hard - more like papadum. The chhane served were actually watery thin gravy with barely any channas. The halwa served with poori was not fresh at all. I reached out to the server and she didn’t care but offered to change the bhatura ( we waited almost ten minutes when she came back with it). No apologies were offered and no concern was shown. Overall it was a bad experience- food and service.

The lady serving us was quite rude, cutting us off when we would try to ask for additional food. We asked the server for a samosa plate that had no spice on it and she stated there was no spice in the food, however there was lots of red chili in it. One member of the table was unable to eat the food because of the spice. The server didn't even offer to swap the plate for anything else. I just finished talking with the owner about this situation. He talked very calm and politely after hearing about my experience. I really appreciated that he said he would have a discussion with his staff about this. So I hope that everyone's experience here in the future is positive as the owner does care about his customers.

Been to this place for takeout 3 years ago and felt it was super run down. Tried it this evening for the dinner buffet and it’s even more run down. So many things wrong with this place. It would have a chance with the okay food, if the ambiance was better. Other than the fact that it looks like an old Wendy’s on the inside, there is no upkeep and minimal effort being put into the ambiance for customers eating there. The carpet is ancient, old and dirty. I saw some unused serviettes fallen from a cupboard and I hope they do not reuse them as they’ve already touch the grossest carpet. The other thing that bugged me was the garbage radio they have playing. It was actually a pre-recorded Now Radio breakfast show and all the same terrible pop music we hear everywhere. It made me want to get out of there asap and made me get even more annoyed. Why don’t they have beautiful Indian music?! They truly need to make an effort if they want to compete with the way better Indian restaurant experienced right across the street...just saying. Finally, I asked if the fish pakora was gluten friendly - the girl went and checked with the chef & and it’s chickpea flour. On further investigation, they do NOT use a different deep fryer to their wheat crusted chicken wings - so Punjab Sweets - NO! - your fish pakora is NOT GLUTEN FREE NOR FRIENDLY! - get your facts right. Thank gawd I prodded for further info. Also, we used a Groupon, that was supposed to cover the entire meal, but Punjab Sweets decided to charge us GST on top of a pre-purchased Groupon - which has never happened to us before. On asking the lady why, she said it’s the owner’s instruction. In no way their Groupon had any fine print regarding additional charges or GST. Overall, poor experience. If you have low to no standards, go here but we...

I come to Punjabi sweets very often and every time the food usually makes up for the fact that the service is so horrible. But today I was just disgusted. I get the same food everytime and today when I was served the food it was under cooked, disgusting almost tasted raw and bland. And when I told them about the dish being under cooked they told me that’s how the the chef makes it despite me telling them I get it every single time I'm there and my server completely shut me down. NOT TO MENTION THERE WAS HAIR IN MY NAAN BREAD, and when I mentioned it to my server she didn’t care what so ever and so casually said let me bring you not another whole bread but just that single piece.

Asides from the disgusting food, the service is so terrible ! The server was not warm nor smiled. She would forget to bring the straws or napkins, and every time we would ask her for cutlery she would become so rude. In addition I’m always served my drinks towards the end of my meal even though I asked for it during the beginning.

I wouldn’t recommend ANYONE go here. The severs there really need to brush up on there social etiquette skills and need BASIC training on how to deal with customers. Unfortunately my family and friends will NO LONGER be coming here. Sadly this is unfortunate because I used to come here all the time and loved it. Also the servers lack...
