Hidden gem in Surrey. A place that's worth visiting for it's quality of food, ambiance, and service. There are two parts to this place. Upfront there is a sweets place. And inside is the dining hall for full service. The sweets area is not vast and the spread is not big. BUT, the quality of what they offer is really great. We got their kala jamun, mothichoor laddu and a few other sweets. Each one had a great taste to it and was delectable. Then we had some items for lunch. The mango lassi was good - nothing spectacular but good. We ordered Dahi Bhalle. Dahi Bhalle is the punjabi dish in which urad dhal and maybe moong dhal batter is fried as fritters and are served in seasoned yogurt topped with chutney, this should not be confused with Dahi Vada which is a south Indian dish (popularly known as Thayir Vadai). This dish was crafted to perfection. We also ordered channa Bhutra plate and Paneer Kulcha plate. The Plate refers to additional items on it like yogurt, pickled carrot, channa, cut onion. Both the paneer Kulcha and bhatura were tasty. The chole in particular was.well cooked. No grease or heavy cream fat. Just as authentic as it can get. Loved them both. I cannot leave a punjabi place without savoring their samosa. So, I ordered 2 somasas with chutney. It was good - well above average. Loved the earthiness of the mild and adequate spices. Seriously this place is so underrated. We discovered this restaurant through the recommendations of our friends. It's tucked in the side of a strip mall and can be tricky to find. It doesn't look like much from the outside and the restaurant is very ordinary but you don't go here for the ambience. The food is the star here. First of all this place only serves up vegetarian East Indian cuisines. Everything from the curries, paneer, biryani and samosas are made fresh to order. The ingredients are fresh and the spices stand out. The level of flavour and complex flavours are some of the best I have ever had. It shows the cooks take no short cuts. The other thing that is very popular here are the Indian sweets. Excellent selection with many different flavours and varieties to choose from. The staff here are super friendly and willing to explain all the food items and even make recommendations. I have nothing but the best things to say about this place. Try it out of you are...
