Tasty Indian food without the long wait times.
I won't lie...my friend and I originally wanted to eat at ChaChas next door but it was crazy busy with an hour wait time plus it was pouring rain outside...so we saw this place and decided to go for it!
This place is located in Little Indian Plaza so there's plenty of parking space available. The interior was a bit dark, almost like walking inside a bar...their lighting mostly came from natural light, live TV's and a digital fireplace. It's not a very large place but it definitely wasn't as busy as ChaChas.
I felt the food was decent, I'm not Indian so it's harder to tell what is amazing and what is mediocre when it comes to Indian dishes. My Indian friend however (born/raised in India) said the food felt short of his expectations.
I ordered the Chole Bhature and it was fresh, hot and tasty with a decent portion. My friend and I also split a Chicken Karahi (regular) main dish with 2 garlic naans. The Chicken Karahi dish was really good and very filling. It had a bit of spice in it which I liked and it was a good change from the typical chicken korma/butter chicken that I always get at Indian restaurants.
The service was also good, our waiter was lovely, friendly and always checked up on us to see if we were enjoying our food.
Overall, I'd say this place was pretty decent. It was clean on the inside and not very busy (could be a good or bad thing). I spent about $23 including tip and was pretty full afterwards that I needed some chai next door!
I don't know about my Indian friend but I'll definitely come back to...
Read moreVisited here today with my family and what can I say…..it was fantastic. I was so impressed with the food and hospitality of the workers there.
The palak paneer was full of flavour and lots of paneer and the chicken curry was one of the best I have ever had. The chicken was very fresh and this is quite rare as most places it tastes a bit old (Food connoisseurs will get what I mean).
The gravy was excellent as they used boneless chicken thigh instead of breast and that is how a proper curry should be made (I can’t even imagine how good it would taste if they used boned pieces but this was close enough)
The naan were soft yet crunchy in the right places and dripping with butter…just went so well with the curries.
Portion size was really good and this place has become my number one place in Surrey/North Delta/White Rock (And I have eaten at all of the usual suspects).
Overall, wonderful food, great staff and tremendous value for money….what else do you want/need. And no I have not been paid to promote...
Read moreBeautiful ambiance, very clean, cozy and inviting. Ordered Achari Chicken Curry, Chicken Korma and Tandoori Roti. Achari Chicken Curry had homely touch and had actual "Achari" taste, which I loved the most. Chicken Korma was also very tasty. What I loves the most was that the Tandoori Roti was very soft, which is very hard to find in restaurants. Tehn we ordered Indian Coffee, which remind me of the coffee I used to drink in parties/weddings back home. It smelled exactly the same and top was filled with foam. A hint of coffee powder on top was really good. "Teela Kulfi" at the end of the food was a nice way to finish the lunch. Throughout the lunch, Service was very good and quick. Strongly recommend to visit this restaurant and if you like spicy food, you must try "Achari...
