The dim lights make the place warm and cozy. Washrooms were alright but not too clean. I went there to wash my hands, and I saw some leftovers on the floor (yikes). Servers were okay. One female server was very awkward and a little bit annoying, I’d say. I understand that she felt comfortable talking to people whose origin is similar to hers, but it doesn’t mean that she could ignore me like that. She was very happy talking to my brown friend, but she barely looked at me and smiled happily simply because I’m an Asian. Not every staff was horrible. The owner was a great guy, very attentive and friendly. However, we got stuck with the “implicit racist” I mentioned above. The food was cool. The two Idlis were flavourless. Good thing is the sauces made up for it. Dosas were crispy and tasty. In love with the one with cheese. The one with veggies were not even that good, and I still had no idea why the server recommended us that. Feels like it was a bit of a waste. The rasmalai was not that great either. The texture was very weird, and I did not understand why it was too yellow like that. The sweetness was moderate. Overall, not very satisfied. The food did not disappoint me much, but the implicit racism sure did. Not to mention, some even stared at me when I stepped in. Only when I stared them back, they turned away.

For more than a decade, I have been practising this tradition of eating the signature dish at Mayuri i.e. RAVA MASALA DOSA. The taste of Dosa, Potato masala and Sambar is constant from then till today … perhaps this is my 100+ Ravva masala dosa ( or another decimal to add). The Ravva dosa as well as Regular dosa are very crispy, roasted perfectly and big portion too. The masala filled in it is huge portion, I could not eat that much aloo with one Dosa for me. The coconut chutneys and Ginger chutney are authentic and savoury. The Ginger chutney has very authentic south Indian home made taste… don’t miss it even though it has 8/10 spicy levels. Also regular dosas are crispy and popular. They got Paneer dosa and chole bhatura as well, which are in my bucket list to try but I always end up ordering only Ravva masala every-time. They also have Famous south Indian thali and got to know that some people come there just for Thali during the weekends. The staff are very warm, humble and smiling all time. Overall, Mayuri has best south Indian Dosas in lower mainland in my choice.. they have been serving for more than 15 years with same standards and ambiance. Great going Mayuri… Disclaimer: I know the owner personally, but my comments given here are truly based on the taste of food and quality of service.

Disappointing Experience We’ve been regular customers at this restaurant for a while, and have always had great experiences, but unfortunately, this visit was a letdown. After a 4-month gap, we went back and were greeted by a very rude lady at the counter. Not only were we charged extra for sambar (something we've never experienced before), but they also charged us $15.99 for a platter that is usually priced at $13.99. When I asked about it, she claimed that extra charges apply for cheese or paneer dosa, but we didn’t order those. When we placed our order, she had agreed to substitute a masala dosa with a masala uttapam, but at no point did she mention that there would be additional costs. Additionally, for simple requests like extra poori or water, we were asked to go up to the counter repeatedly. This kind of service is really disappointing, and unfortunately, this experience has made us reconsider returning.

It seems like you're interested in learning about Mayuri Indian Cuisine's food. Mayuri Indian Cuisine is a restaurant chain that offers a variety of traditional Indian dishes. Indian cuisine is known for its rich flavors, use of aromatic spices, and diverse range of ingredients. While I don't have specific information about Mayuri Indian Cuisine's menu items, I can provide you with a general overview of the types of dishes you might find in an Indian restaurant:

Curries: Indian curries are a staple of the cuisine and come in various forms. They can be made with vegetables, meat, poultry, or seafood, and they're typically served with rice or bread (such as naan or roti). Popular curry dishes include Chicken Tikka Masala, Paneer Butter Masala, and Lamb Rogan Josh.

Tandoori: Tandoori dishes are prepared in a clay oven called a tandoor. Meats, such as chicken, lamb, or fish, are marinated in a mixture of yogurt and spices before being cooked in the tandoor. This method imparts a smoky flavor to the food. Tandoori Chicken and Tandoori Naan are common examples.

Biryani: Biryani is a fragrant rice dish made with long-grain rice, spices, and often with meat or vegetables. It's cooked in layers to infuse the rice with flavors. Chicken Biryani and Vegetable Biryani are popular variations.

Dosas and Idlis: These are popular South Indian dishes. Dosas are thin, crispy pancakes made from fermented rice and lentil batter, often served with coconut chutney and sambar (a lentil-based vegetable stew). Idlis are steamed rice cakes, also served with chutney and sambar.

Street Food: Indian street food is diverse and delicious. It includes items like chaat (a mix of savory ingredients like potatoes, spices, and chutneys), pani puri (hollow crispy balls filled with flavored water), and vada pav (spicy potato fritter in a bun).

Vegetarian and Vegan Options: Indian cuisine offers a wide range of vegetarian and vegan dishes due to cultural and religious dietary practices. Dishes like Chana Masala (chickpea curry), Aloo Gobi (potato and cauliflower curry), and Palak Paneer (spinach and cheese curry) are popular choices.

Sweets and Desserts: Indian sweets, known as mithai, are often made from ingredients like milk, sugar, and nuts. Gulab Jamun (sweet fried dough balls soaked in sugar syrup), Rasgulla (cheese dumplings in sugar syrup), and Jalebi (deep-fried swirls soaked in syrup) are common treats.

Remember that the availability of specific dishes might vary depending on the location and menu of the Mayuri Indian Cuisine restaurant you visit. If you have access to their menu, you can explore the wide range of options they offer and try dishes that pique...
