DISGRACE TO KOREAN RESTAURANTS. There is ZERO service, they falsely advertise in their menu, they are extremely overpriced. We opt for Insadong or Sura but decided to try this place because we live in White Rock and our friend was visiting. Never will I go here. I felt so bad for bringing our friend here. This was the worst experience I have had ever at a restaurant let alone a Korean restaurant. We ordered Grill C at a price of $160 we also had soju and beer. The servers did not come check on us ONCE. Never asked us if we needed more drinks. Even if you order a $10 meal at a fast food sit-in restaurant, they will ask you how your meal is. The servers are there for show. Their menu advertises 3 house special sauces, 6 side dishes and soup. You can see in the pictures how embarrassing the "house special sauces" are one is salt and pepper, the other is water downed soy sauce. Do you see the 1 potato? There were clearly 3 side dishes individually so I asked the server about the advertised 6 side dishes. She said it includes the 3 small pieces of radish wrap and the 1 tiny bowl of a few lettuce leaves covered with onion. As ridiculous as that is, I told her that's still 5 and she said it includes the soup. As you see in the menu, it's clearly listed separately. When I pointed that out, she said the menu is new and the owner had not let the servers know. Side dishes are extra so that's fine but don't advertise it when you're really providing the very least and don't charge $160 for a meal you could get for $100 tops with top notch service. I am Korean but you don't have to be to know that the sidedishes you see are from the cheapest ingredients. Potatoes, bean sprouts, cabbage. It's too bad that restaurants don't have to pass a service inspection because this place wouldn't be open. Diner beware. I did complain about the service and asked to speak to the owner. The condescending server who asked "who is going to be the chef tonight?" when she brought over the food - I don't pay $160 to "be the chef", said "I'm sorry if you felt the service was slow." The other one came over and said "you must be very upset" when I had told her that we had not been checked on once, she said they come around once they seat everyone. There was 1 table when we came in and for the longest time there was only 3. Come on. I told her there was no service. There was not one thing she or the other server did that we did not have to wait and flag them down for. I did speak to the owner over the phone who said she would train her staff and told me I didn't have to pay for the meal. We paid because we ate the food but honestly worst dining experience of my life. Now I see the reviews below that all politely state the service is slow. Save your money and mood. Go to Insadong or Sura. I think they're open now because of people who don't know better because there isn't a Korean bbq restaurant in this area, trust me this isn't the Korean bbq experience - doesn't come close to it.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Woo Korean BBQ House in Surrey. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. There’s a genuine warmth here that’s hard to find elsewhere. They greeted us with big smiles and took the time to explain the menu thoroughly, which was really helpful since it was our first visit. The hospitality stood out immediately — the servers checked in often, not in a rushed or intrusive way, but in a way that made us feel cared for. They patiently answered all our questions about the different cuts of meat and marinades, and even gave us some tips on how to grill everything perfectly at our table. It felt like they really wanted us to have the best possible experience. The quality of the food was excellent. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. The selection of meats and side dishes was generous, and the flavours were fantastic. The atmosphere is lively yet comfortable, making it a great spot for both family gatherings and casual dinners with friends. Clean, well-ventilated, and with a modern aesthetic, the restaurant adds to the overall positive experience. Overall, Woo Korean BBQ House is a standout for both its food and its exceptional service. We left full and happy, already planning our next visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable and welcoming dining experience!

Ive been to different authentic Korean resto inside and outside Canada and by far this is my saddest experience, If youre a big fan of Kimchi-Jjigae like me, well this place is not for you.. tasted the saddest Kimchi-Jjigae ever, seriously $20 for a stew with 3pieces (thumb-size) pork? thats a total rip-off! I mean try eating to other authentic Korean resto like "Ajuker" in Burnaby their Kimchi-jjigae is only $15 and the portion is good for 2 people, you'll get 8-10 pcs of big chunk of pork in their stew. I went to Woo Korean BBQ House for lunch today, as soon as I got my order while the stew is still hot and boiling I scooped all the pork out of my stew and to my surprise its just 3-4pcs not even a thumb size pork lol so I called the waitress (short hair) and asked if this is really the portion of pork in their $20 stew and she just replied that is what they were able to scoop out of their big stew pot..lol

The only reason I have given this 1 star is because there is no option to give it 0 stars.

I can't begin to describe how excited I was about this new Korean BBQ restaurant opening in my area! The last time I attended a Korean BBQ was an all you can eat restaurant by Guilford Mall and it was amazing, so needless to say I had high expectations.

So last night my girlfriend and I walk into the restaurant, the hostess told us it was a 30 minute wait.. We put our name and phone number down on a list and walked across the street to have a beer at Montanas bar while we waited for their call.

30 minutes later we get a phone call saying that our table is ready, we walked back to the restaurant and were seated in the corner, and thats where we sat for 20 minutes while server after server walked back and fourth past us, completely ignoring us, this is when I began to grow very weary.

Finally a server decides to come over and ask us for our order, we ordered a noodle bowl starter, short rib, vegetable platter, brisket, prawns, chicken, mushrooms and asparagus and two drinks.

the brisket comes first, it's about 8 to 10 slices of sliced unseasoned meat for 17$. the portion is so small it would not satisfy a tiny infant.. No more than 50 grams of meat on that plate. no option to season the food. no salt or pepper on the table, nothing resembling a sauce or a marinade to be seen anywhere.. The brisket was sliced so thin that 20 seconds on the grill per side leaves you with a dry, tasteless overcooked slice of meat..

Shortly after the mushrooms and the asparagus show up, there are 4 pieces of mushroom and 4 asparagus spears, which she puts on the bbq for us, but then requests that we remove all of our food from the bbq pan because she wants to change it out for a new one. While clumsily removing the pan she drops it on our glasses of water then catches it and swings it within millimetres of my girlfriends jugular. It was pretty scary and very dangerous, the server however thought it was pretty funny and just laughed it off.

Next the short rib showed up, it was the only thing on the order that resembled any decency, unfortunately the portions are just too small for the price you're paying..

then the "starter" showed up only after my girlfriend reminded them we ordered it. Sadly the chicken and the vegetable platter never made it to the table that night.

We had enough, I told them to please just bring the bill, after waiting 10+ minutes they brought the bill. I went over it when the server and had them remove the items they decided not to bring us, but still wanted to charge us for. The server had given no apology and showed no sign of remorse whatsoever for her blatant negligence and her complete lack of commitment to her job.

The owner came to the table and I expressed my concerns, he just responded with a smile and a "sorry"

after finally paying the 70+ dollar bill, we went to the Kababji grill just down the road for dinner, because apparently to be fully satisfied at the korean bbq you're looking at around a 300$ food bill for 2 people.

So in summary

Service was an absolute atrocity. My girlfriend was nearly maimed with a scolding hot bbq pan. The food is incredibly bland and unseasoned. The portions were so small we had to go for dinner after eating there. They tried to steal my money by charging me for things they decided not to give us.

Please stay away from here.. you can drive down to the place by guilford mall and for 20 dollars you get piles and piles of great seasoned meat and vegetables.

This is a tough reminder that when things seem too good to be true, they probably are. Learning that there was a Korean BBQ within walking distance seemed like a dream come true. unfortunately that dream just ended up being my...

The website says it closes at 9:30. We walked in at eight. They told us right away that we can not order barbeque because the kitchen is closing so we ordered what we can out of the menu. They forgot our order and then when we asked for it, they said sorry the kitchen is closed. There was hair in our food. There was lipstick on our glasses when we complained, the owner just laughed at us. She found it hilarious. And took two drinks off the bill then they forced us to pay because they were closing right away and when we didn’t leave a tip, they were quite upset and angry at us then they called some Man questioning us when we told him the situation he said in his 20 years restaurant over he’s never heard of that which I can’t understand how. They claim the hair didn’t come from them The orders came out wrong, and we feel very rushed to eat our food wasn’t a good experience we wasn’t happy for some reason They wanted to call the police on us even though we paid the bill. The owner was putting her hands in my husband‘s face. My daughter had to push her away. It was a strange and unpleasant experience food was blah it was a horrible experience I will never ever go there again. Very bad restaurant.

This is to the response of the owners first of all there was no verbal abuse again when we complain to you about our issues all you did was laugh at us the waitress that was serving us was very rude. You forgot our orders and then you told us there’s nothing you can do. The kitchen is closed. You put your hands in my husband‘s face right there that’s an assault you were arguing the point that it wasn’t your hair fried into the dumplings. You wouldn’t let us leave the restaurant you kept arguing with us, even though we were trying to walk out after we paid the bill. we will not be returning even if the food is free your service your attitude your atmosphere was 100% disastrous and you shouldn’t be in business. Next time when you make a report to the RCMP try telling the truth instead of lying. And there will be more reports made to the environmental health about...
