Waterfront bakery specializing in pie but also serving breakfast and lunch with a variety of baked goods. I visited a few times during my stay in Tofino. In general the food was great and the staff was friendly (one barista that I dealt with was not very enthusiastic but they seemed like they were just really tired). The setting is beautiful! There’s ample patio seating, and whether you sit inside or outside you get a beautiful view of the water. Curried cauliflower handpie: A fantastic savoury handpie with a flaky crust and a flavourful vegetarian filling. Some handpies are kind of flat with not a lot of filling but that was not the case here. It came with a mango chutney for dipping. Chocolate quinoa cake (GF): When I was choosing a dessert when I went here for lunch, I felt like I should get pie, but this cake looked so good and I did not regret trying it. Really fudgy and rich. Fantastic cake that definitely did not suffer from being made gluten free. If anything, the texture was better than a regular cake. Lemon buttermilk pie: This was the only thing I tried that I didn’t like. I wanted to try this one because it seemed unique, as I don’t think I’ve tried a custardy lemon pie before, but it was too sweet for me. The texture was lovely and the little pops of brightness from the berries were nice, but it was kind of hard to get through. Vegan breakfast cookie: Good but basic breakfast cookie with oats, seeds, and cranberries, held together by what tasted like peanut or maybe almond butter. I liked the texture - I’m not sure exactly what it was about it, but it tasted fresher than a lot of breakfast cookies I’ve tried. Chai latte: Good - I saw them making it, and they use a packaged but good chai concentrate, from Say When. It makes a strong, spicy chai latte that’s not too sweet. Tea: They have Mighty Leaf tea which I think is pretty good. I got the green...

I was there today in Tofino with my brother from England. I live in Qualicum beach. We had a wonderful lunch and coffee. The service was very good and the Tortierre Pie just spectacular on a fall day. The view is incredible and I worked at the TGH hospital for two decades and never get tired of the vistas. Your staff were very good and attentive. I also very much enjoyed the conversation I had with your chef from Quebec and her incredible passion for food and travel in the UK (Scottish pies and fish and chips.....) and Europe. I could have chatted for ages with you and you were wonderful in you passion for food. Please just make some Pasties and savory Turn-overs. You would be amazing! And please continue to try to get some signage. I know with the Town, it is not easy. It took us ages to find you and I imagine you could be far more successful if you could persuade the town to allow you to have signs. As a Journeyman chef of 50 years myself, and without the nonsense pretense of modern culinary silliness trying to out do one another in ridiculousness, today was a very nice experience in sublime comfort cuisine on a beautiful fall day, thank you to you all! In all the years I was working at TGH, I never knew you were there. Next time I am in Tofino, I now know where to go for a good meal and wonderful service and a conversation with the chef/owner from Quebec! You are wonderful!!!! I am also very grateful that you allowed me to bring in my dog Pippa, (and my...

I really wish we'd discovered this place sooner during our trip to Tofino! It was a bit of a trek down quite a steep hill, but we eventually found it and I'm so glad we did. The drinks to the pie to the pastry; everything was wonderfully delicious! We ordered quite a bit and even took some with us because it all sounded so good. We started with a slice of the the chicken pot pie, a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie a la mode, a cinnamon roll, a hot cross bun, and a breakfast sandwhich. The crust on the pies were flaky and short, crumbling away in your mouth as a crust should. The filling on both the chicken pot pie and the strawberry rhubarb pie were excellently seasoned; not too stong on any one flavor - perfectly balanced. I love a good breakfast sandwhich, and this one came with an interesting jalapeno relish that was sweet rather than hot. So good! The cinnamon roll was quite nice; no dry outter ring, just soft slightly gooey goodness. We took a tourtiere pie with us for the next leg of our journey. The staff were kind enough to give suggestions on how to reheat the frozen pie in our hotel with no oven. Even heated in a microwave, this meat pie was excellent! The crust was still wonderfully buttery and flaky. I'd never had this pie before; I'm grateful this was my first experience. All in all, this is a great location for some delicious food. Great staff, excellent fare, yummy drinks, and a great view...

This place is amazing. My husband and I literally visited it 3 out of 3 days for different things. Not sure what the low review was about since they're having a soft opening at the moment and are working on their menu. The staff are super friendly and helpful, so just ask questions about what you're looking for. 😊 The space itself is clean, well-maintained and has a comfy vibe to it. It has a gorgeous view, and great patio seating. The raspberry rhubarb pie is delicious (make sure to get yours warmed up with their own icecream!). And the icecream...we tried both Vanilla and Sweet Cream and opted to buy a pint to eat at home, it was that good. They have a variety of freshly baked goods, and also sell day old/2 day old items at discount which still taste fresh. We popped by for coffees around breakfast and, while not listed on any menu, were told they were trying out some breakfast items - Savary Island definitely hit the spot as we were looking for some breakfast around town. Last, but not least, coffees - iced mocha was a great balance of espresso/chocolate, latte was full bodied; no bitterness at all. Would highly recommend for baked goods, coffee, icecream and/or breakfast! My one critique? A bit more signage to make it easier for folks to find the front door coming off of First Street.
