Ali Baba's Middle Eastern Cuisine: A Culinary Gem on King Street West
For those of us navigating the relentless Toronto traffic, finding a culinary oasis can transform a frustrating drive into a delightful experience. Ali Baba's Middle Eastern Cuisine, located at 901 King Street West, does just that. As someone who works in the area and frequently travels back to Newmarket, I’ve had the pleasure of discovering this gem amidst the city's hustle.
Every visit to Ali Baba’s is a treat. Their daily specials are a testament to their commitment to quality and flavor. On my most recent trip, I decided to sample everything on the specials menu. Each dish was a delicious reflection of Middle Eastern cuisine, featuring vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients. From the aromatic spices to the perfectly cooked meats, every bite was a reminder of why this place stands out.
The real charm of Ali Baba’s is how it elevates a mundane traffic jam into a culinary journey. The generous portions and diverse offerings made my drive north not just bearable but enjoyable. There’s something incredibly satisfying about savoring a well-prepared meal while inching through the gridlock, turning a stressful situation into a moment of peace.
In summary, Ali Baba's Middle Eastern Cuisine is more than just a stop; it's a memorable experience. If you find yourself in the area, make sure to indulge in their daily specials. They have a knack for turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, one delicious...
Read moreI just had an extremely disappointing experience at a business in my neighborhood I was looking forward to trying. I decided to pick up a sandwich to surprise my partner who had also been wanting to try Ali Baba. I ordered a Shish Tawook sandwich because of the delicious looking chicken spit. When the server began preparing my sandwich, I noticed that she had taken what looked like grilled chicken from the fridge section and put it on the grill to heat. Unsure if it was for me or another order, I asked her if the chicken from the spit would used for my sandwich because 1) that is slow cooked vs grilled chicken and 2) it was the reason I chose the Shish Tawook sandwich. She said yes. When she went to add the meat, I noticed she was not taking the meat from the spit, but the reheated grilled chicken. I apologized and said I had understood it would be chicken from the spit and that they looked very different. She said it was just the seasoning that was different. When I said I'd like to have the spit chicken because that was what had made me place the order she said it was too late as she had already heated the grilled chicken.
I am not one to complain, but I felt taken advantage of. I am soft spoken, was respectful, and feel there is no valid reason my reasonable request was denied - twice. I would like to discuss being reimbursed for the $11.85 I paid. I do not...
Read moreThis review is subjective to one of the employees here at this location- She is a mature woman and wears a hijab on the head ( She wouldn't tell me her name upon asking) Not one time have I got my order right, she would stuff everything in your platter and not give a damn about what you are asking for .
Looks like she has been working there for a while now, hence, she treats customers with disrespect and RUDE ATTITUDE.
I had seen her negotiate and fight with other customers too and have experienced her bad attitude personally as well.
I personally avoid going in for food there when she is serving. She literally throws food in your plate and acts as if she is doing you a huge favor by working there.
The food is nice but due to huge demands the Employees are a complete NIGHTMARE to deal with . They are super RUDE to you if you ask them for anything and just turn their back to you.
The owner of the store Adil - he is an understanding person but in his absence the store is a PILE OF MESS.
I personally feed bad for this store and Adil (it's owner) , because of a few rotten employees, the overall likeliness of the store is...
