I saw a video about this place from BlogTO and finally got to stop by on my way to High Park. The place had a steady flow of customers and really good reviews online so I had a high expectation for this place. I'm happy to say this place lived up to my expectation and its online reputation.
We purchased two pork revuelta pupusas and beans and rice. The beans and rice was delicious, it tasted like they were cooked in a broth and reminded me a lot of rice and beans I had in Brazil. The pupusas with the side of pickled cabbage and salsa were fantastic together; the acidity and freshness from the cabbage and the salsa were a fantastic complement to the richness and the savouriness of the pupusas. Overall, we really enjoyed everything and were full afterwards; the whole meal was a great value as it cost $18 for two of us (after tax and tip).
The only complaint I have was they only provided us with one napkin and no utensils. I would recommend asking them to provide the utensils and napkin in case if it is not their common practice to provide these for all orders. Other than that, we really enjoyed everything from this place and would be happy to order from...
Read moreAs someone is married to a Salvadorian woman, I feel like i can comment on pupusarias with confidence!
We have been to the Salvadorian store in Kensington and had their pupusas and also in Brampton at Guanaquita. Every pupusa is just a little different. What was really tasty about casamiento was the way they made their fried beans and the Tomatada used to dip with. It had a slight spice and a very mild sweetness. The cortido was also extremely fresh and tasted really good.
The restaurant itself is quite small inside but the tables have a great space and it's comfortable to eat in. The staff was very friendly and they are quick to serve your plates. The pupusas I would say are not traditionally as big as native ones. So I think if you're hungry 2 is the perfect amount.
Pupusas are such a great, affordable and filling dish. If you haven't tried one before, you should...
Read moreIf you are here because you have seen the buy 1 get 1 free on Uber eats for the Chorizo Taco and I'll let you guys know the truth to their buy 1 get 1 free scam. Low-grade quality cheap meat and the food tastes like something you can probably make better at home, I ate the Taco and it tasted like a Big Mac which is disgusting also I ordered a beef Quesadilla and they gave me a bean and cheese Quesadilla. I had a feeling they did this on purpose to save money on giving people beans instead of actual meat. I called to politely tell them about it and the person who answered was laughing at me as if I was making a big deal out of it (I wasn't) I just called to see if they could remake my Quesadilla and I go to their store to pick it up but instead they just laughed at me for getting my...
