Located at Greenwood & Gerard, Conci was a highly anticipated destination fueled by numerous recommendations (thanks, Peter from Dreyfus!). We'd heard about their natural wines, but we came by early Sunday morning on this particular occasion, seeking comfort in some pastries and coffee. They opened at 9 am, and we showed up five minutes later, only to find a tolerable queue of eager customers. Most people seemed glad to grab their treats to go, but we chose to enjoy the morning sunshine on their patio. The croissants that awaited us were superb. We woke from our Sunday morning haze with each buttery, flaky, flavorful bite. Yet, one particular pastry reigned supreme—a pistachio-infused croissant with unrivalled flavour and texture. Oh, what a hit it was with the adults and kids alike! In the company of flat whites brewed to perfection, the entire experience reached new heights. As we sipped our coffee and savoured the last morsels of our delightful pastries, we couldn't help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction. Conci exceeded our expectations, leaving an indelible mark on our culinary journey, orchestrated in the most unpretentious settings. So, if you are fortunate enough to be on the east end, step foot in this spot and enjoy! We look forward to returning to try the natural wines on-site, but we purchased some bottles to take home, which will do for now!

We had the ham and cheese quiche, as well as the croque monsieur. The quiche was bland, and there were relatively large chunks of tough ham in it. The crust was not nearly as good as the delicate crust that Le Gourmand uses for theirs. The Croque was quite unusual in that it looks like a really thick piece of white bread, but the texture is more like a béchamel sauce 🤔. I also purchased a plum almond tart. The plums were kind of tough, and rather tart, and the crust was kind of hard, I believe because it was over baked a little bit. The service was very pleasant, but unfortunately, they have nowhere to sit other than outside, which isn’t great in the winter obviously… not nearly as good as I was expecting from the pictures/reviews posted on Google maps!

Got their famous Triple Fromage Croissant that I've read online, and it lives up to the hype. Covered with poppy seeds and a beautiful spiral structure on the inside, it is crispy and crunchy from the poppy seeds, which provides a contrast of aromas from the butter of the croissant and the cheese inside, which is complex and provides a lot more depth to each bite. Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! EDIT: More goodies. The canele has a deeply caramelized exterior, for a rich depth of flavour and a crispy texture to contrast the gooey vanilla custard center, while the kouign aman has a attractive shape and a beautiful contrast of textures and flavours.

This is as close to Lyonnaise food as we were able have here in Toronto. When we traveled back in 2016, I fell in love with Lyon and their amazing cuisine. And this place is a hidden gem that I've walked by literally hundreds of times on my way to the gym and didn't give a second thought to.

Until we had lunch there! And our minds were blown. Everything is made with meticulous energy from the food itself to the artistic presentation. The croissants, quiches etc are absolutely to die for. Not to mention loads of interesting options for local foods from Lyon. (They are famous for their canned/marinated/pickled goods and meat creations).

Highly recommend this establishment not only for the stellar food, but also for the great energy that the two owners have created and shared with the neighborhood.

Keep up the good work, and we will see...

Came to write a review but noticed previous reviewers already took my words. I'll say it anyways.

This place is a gem. As someone who lives in the area, I know that these places make the neighbourhood special. We need to protect the places we love :)

So if you like wine, natural wine at that, this is your joint. That's the first thing that blew me away when I came - the most eclectic selection of wine.

Now the food - we did the tasting menu tonight - it was absolutely exquisite. The place is small enough that you can tell the food is made with love - quite frankly, if the place were to be any bigger or busier, I don't think it would be sustainable to put that kind of care in the food.

This place is awesome - up there with the others of our hood - lake Inez, the social gardener and Victoria whole foods. Let's make this...
