I will never return. I watched them bring out loafs (at least a dozen) of bread and put them all on the dirty floor in the heavily trafficed service area. Then, the waitress put them from the floor, into the cubby. Watched this happen 2 times whilst waiting for breakfast.. Couldn't believe my eyes! Then, watched a waitress go into the cubby, took a loaf out. Placed it on the counter. (Was on the floor orig) Removed bread to put in the toaster. No hand washing even with a sink right there! Recap... all loafs on floor. From floor into cubby. From cubby to counter. Then the unwashed hands into the toaster machine. Third reload of bread. Same thing! Another server put the loafs on the floor! Then, into cubby. A male server came to make toast. Before opening the bread bag, rubbed his nose with an open palm. That was it for me. I asked for the manager. I've never complained before in any restaurant, but that was horrifying. The manager snapped at me and said "It was a one off putting the loafs on the floor" I told him it just happened 3 times and I saw him walk by the floor loafs! Then, your staff makes toast with NO HAND WASHING AND NO GLOVES! I told him the male server did an open palm nose rub. All he said was he will talk to staff. I told him i've been eating there for years and I've never seen anything like this. I was mad that I didn't have my cell with me and he's lucky because I would have filmed it and sent it to the health department. Our breakfast arrived. I couldn't eat a thing. My hubby ate his. We paid the $55.00 bill, tipped and we will never go back. The server asked why I didn't touch my food I asked our waitress if housing the bread on the floor is the normal practice. She said yes, she's been there 2 years and they reload the cubbies and first organize them on the floor. Thay's the routine they are trained to do. No handwashing or gloves required. I'm beyond disgusted. That manager needs to be fired and for goodness sakes stop putting your loaves on the floor. Then onto what must be a filthy cubby... and WASH YOUR HANDS BEFORE touching bread for toasting. If you eat there, sit in the first booth where the service area is and watch what happens. I hope the health department goes in there. We certainly won't ever eat at that Steeles & Dufferin St. location ever again. This happened on December 26, 2024, late morning. Cora needs to really see what goes on and so does the...
Read moreDecided to come for their all you can eat Crepe's for $10, but it means you get three crepes to start. The only way to dress them up is with syrup. So, with added fruit, your cost jumps to $27.95 for one person before tax. Way too pricey.
I ordered a spinach & cheese omelet $15.95. It is pre-made, so if you don't want onions, it can not accommodate you because peppers would also be eliminated, saying our waiter. Dish served with a mound of home fried potatoes, assortment of fresh fruit and toast.
Almost all the entree choices here cost $17.95 and up.
There was nothing of interest that I wanted as each entre had at least 1,800 calories. It's impossible to order eggs, bacon, and toast because it comes with a mound of home fries and fresh fruit, perhaps even two pieces of toast. I can't eat that much. This place needs a lighter fare like a green salad or a simple 1/2 sandwich, like $9.99 instead. I think today is my last time here as it just doesn't appeal to me anymore. After a while, new meals should be added because it's the same old food that you get tired of eating, plus you turn into a ten ton Louie walking outta there.
The toast served to me wasn't toast at all. It was whole wheat bread with butter not toasted, so we asked for another serving. That was after we got our server's attention as he was in the midst of cleaning the floor with broom in hand at the other end of the restaurant. Off he went to get it along with a cup of coffee. I said to my spouse, "I wonder if he will wash his hands." We watched him and Nope, he didn't do that. Instead, his hand went directly into the loaf of bread, and well, you know the rest. I wasn't going to eat it. Just witnessing him do that totally grossed me out and where the heck is his common sense. Overall, this place is looking like it needs a face lift, there were too many tables without social distancing, messes on the floor not picked up at any table and stacks of children's seats randomly stacked here and there. The atmosphere is too rushed, and to have staff pushing a broom to and fro under our table, I wanted to scream get lost.
The total cost for two for lunch was $32.15 with tax, and that is...
Read moreI've had the pleasure of visiting this establishment several times and would confidently say it's one of the best places in the area. The chefs here are quite skilled, consistently delivering dishes that stand out for their quality and flavor. The variety on the menu ensures that there's something for everyone, and the presentation of the dishes is always appealing. While the service is generally satisfactory, the food is what truly sets this place apart from its competitors. The staff are friendly and try their best, but occasionally there can be minor delays, especially during peak times.
On weekends, this spot tends to be quite busy, which speaks to its popularity. We usually visit during this time, and the bustling atmosphere is part of the charm. However, if you're planning to go on a weekend, I would recommend planning ahead to ensure you have a good experience. Arriving early or making a reservation can help you avoid long wait times and secure a good table. It’s worth noting that the lively weekend crowd adds to the vibrant atmosphere, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, this place offers a delightful dining experience with superior food that makes up for any minor service hiccups. Whether you're a regular like us or planning your first visit, you'll likely find the quality of the food well worth the trip.
