2018: Several more visits over the year with our second Christmas Dinner...who needs to cook right...and we are not disappointed. Aperitifs, Burt Reynolds shooters, calamari, main course with a fine bottle of Trapiche Reserve/Malbec from Argentina followed by pumpkin pie and Port to end our three hour sit down. A truly enjoyable evening with the absolute best Wait Staff. 2017: Wonderful traditional full trimmings Christmas Day turkey meal. First time experiencing at this establishment and was a bit worried from some of the reviews about the food, service and "you sit on green plastic chairs" comments. One reviewer, Justin Cui writes: nothing to complain about but gives it 2 stars and goes on to complain about this and that. Confused or what?!? Nothing further from the truth! Yes the patio has plastic chairs, it's a patio and fully enclosed btw. Our meal was excellent, Wait Staff amazing and the liquor enabled us to not only be thankful for this time of year but to numb us enough to think ahead to the New Year celebrations. The service included a search for a specific shooter I had a taste for. Our Server, while on his break, took the time to look it up and pass it on to the Bar Staff. Attention Management, he's a keeper. The small front door exterior seating is also enclosed and heated. Main floor offers a variety of tables (with real chairs) and comfortable against the wall booth style seating. We were there four hours and had a great time and for that we thank you. Obviously, we'll be back. Moral of the story: Don't believe everything you read. And the sky is blue after all. PS: The cranberry stuffing was great. I even ordered extra. PPS: I missed not having meat pie with the meal. Maybe next year? :) NOTE:. Yes tipping is already included in your bill but on a Christmas Day and prior to the minimum wage being raised, maybe extra tipping isn't all that bad. Plus I was informed of this by the Manager at time of booking.

Delightful!!! Especially to have a patio open 24x7.....throughout, come hail, rain, snow and shine!!! Really was a god send especially during the stifling pandemic! To sit, mask free knowing there is phenomenol air circulation and having freedom from fear ever getting sick!!! Was a huge relief for my friend who has immunocompromised kids It is a sports bar and the drinks were consistently pouring from the bar....Anything and everything your heart desires, the bar was guaranteed to offer all you wanted to imbibe!! Including multiple fireball shots!!! We placate our woozy stomachs (on account of generously imbibing from the benevolent bar) we had the fried calamari that hit the spot. I had a very well seasoned Jambalaya and my friend dined on grilled salmon. Another friend of mine was disappointed with her Jerk Chicken burrito and despite dousing it with a full bottle of tobacco, it didn't tickle her gustatory receptors. However the staff had taken good care of us and were consistently quick with our drinks, which kept us very pleased. Will definitely make a pit stop here again!

The food at Hemingway’s was slightly below average. I wouldn't say it's awful, it just didn't meet our expectations. The meal would've tasted better if the sweet potato fries were not served to us cold and slightly soggy and the server didn't charge us $1 for a dollop of extra garlic aioli sauce (I noticed this extra charge on the bill when I was paying and deducted it from the tip). My salad was in want of more dressing because the vinaigrette was so watered down (may I suggest a salad spinner?). They could have been more creative with the grilled tofu, for it tasted more like softened rubber. My boyfriend and I are guilty of having good taste because we cook very often, but sometimes it's nice to have the night off. After eating at Hemingway's, a part of us wished we had just cooked at home. Their Pavlova dessert was too sweet and by the time it got to us, half the whipped cream had already melted. Parts of the meringue were stone hard like it had been baked three days prior. I could have had a Toblerone and nougat for half the price. One positive side of Hemingway’s is that they do allow dogs on the patio, which is a plus. Overall, Hemingway’s is all hype, no bite.

Awful experience.. Honestly hate being an annoying customer during these crazy times but I have to leave this review. The food was not good at all, the service was awful and it took forever for the bill to arrive. When I asked for the bill several times the server had the audacity to tell me she would serve another table a round of drinks first and then bring our bills. What?! We were a big group so they were already going to receive gratuity regardless so they didn’t care about us AT ALL. In addition to all of this, my cousin was served a RAW BURGER. My burger was quite pink as well but not RED like hers. You could literally hear the cow mooing through the plate. It was disgusting. We told the server and the first thing she said was “That’s how we serve our burgers here”. WHAT?! Not in Canada ma’am! She apologized and said she will tell the kitchen to do better. They didn’t offer to comp the burger or replace it with a cooked patty. Hemingway’s, do better. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The vibes and music was great for a Wednesday night! Food was ok-ish, I got the New Zealand Lamb which was good, but I wasn’t too sure what the “fried” stuff were. Could have been some sort of veggies but I wasn’t sure. The soup of the was fine, cream corn with bacon and potatoes, nothing fantastic. Dessert was great, the caramel brownie cheesecake tasty and not overly sweet. On the other hand, drinks were a disaster, I had a raspberry mojito with Havana rum. This tasted nothing like a mojito, the mint leaves look old, the raspberry syrup or whatever used looked gross. To top it off it was a whopping $20. I couldn’t even drink it, it was left untouched after tasting. Other than that the service from the bartender on the second floor was great! He took the food orders, the drinks and kept checking in to see if everything was good. Could have gotten 5 stars but that drink was the definitely not what I was expecting.

We had dinner at Hemingway's last night. We did not have a reservation but ended up getting seated right away. Even though it was early, the restaurant was very busy. The staff were very helpful. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The drinks came out quickly followed by the sirloin bites. They were tender and flavorful. We then ordered our entrees. I received my soup and it was delicious! It was a bit of a wait for our entrees but the food made up for the delay. It was all amazing. We passed our plates around so everyone could try the food. We had jambalaya, sirloin steak and the jerk chicken burrito in a bowl. Kudos to the kitchen - the flavors were all spot on! We saved room for dessert and had the cheesecake and pavlova. Again, a wonderful job! It was great to see the staff work together to tackle the large groups and large volume of people during the holiday! Great teamwork!
