I have been to this place more than once hoping and wishing it would meet my expectations but unfortunately it was the absolute worst. To begin with, the customer service was so bad. Not that the employees were bad but the employer/owner herself was a very rude and disrespectful person. I could literally see the disgust on her face when she was looking over at my table but whenever a foreigner walks in she herself serves them and the amount of care they receive is so unmatched. I wonder why? It’s a shame I never felt comfortable in the place where I should have felt comfortable the most. You’re supposed to bring back home to us making us feel valued and loved while we stay there not treat us like trash and disrespect us in the worst possible way. I have had friends visit there and they noticed the exact same thing. The food is mid on a good day but bad in most days. If you truly want to experience an authentic Ethiopian\Eritrean cuisine there are definitely better alternatives especially as an Ethiopian like my self don’t waste your time, money and energy at this place. DEFINITELY NOT...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place, but I wish I had just stayed home and eaten plain toast instead—it would’ve had more flavor. The injera was cold and oddly tough, like it had been left out for days. The stews? A disaster. Watery, bland, and somehow tasting both burnt and undercooked at the same time. I don’t know how that’s possible, but they managed.
And the tibs? Awful. Dry, chewy, and so overcooked they tasted like they had been reheated three times. No seasoning, no flavor, just sadness on a plate.
Service was slow, but honestly, I wouldn’t have minded if the food had been worth the wait. It wasn’t. For the price, I expected at least something to be decent, but no. Not a single redeeming factor. I left hungrier than when I came in, and now I have trust issues....
