Gave Jack Astor’s a second chance after they completely messed up my steak order last time—and I seriously regret it. Not only was the service terrible again, but I walked out feeling ripped off, frustrated, and completely disrespected as a paying customer.
Let’s start with the basics: The server was polite and friendly, but apparently that’s where his skillset ended. He:
Got my drink order wrong
Got my food order wrong
Forgot my sauce FOUR times
Attempts to fix anything was sad and insufficient
I ordered a Caesar with EXTRA Worcestershire sauce—got the most watered-down, bland version imaginable. And where was my server when I realized? Nowhere. I had to get up and walk to the bar myself to get it fixed. Then he ran to the table to say sorry. Cool.
I ordered LOADED BEEF NACHOS with extra red onions and jalapeños. What I got? Plain vegetarian nachos—no beef, no red onion. Literally none of the things I asked for. I actually thought I was blind digging through it looking for beef until I asked the server and he hit me with:
“Ohhh yeah, my tablet froze, and I thought about confirming with you… but didn’t.”
Emmm what?If you weren’t sure, WHY DIDN’T YOU JUST ASK? Instead, I got stuck with a meal I didn’t order, didn’t want, and didn’t have time to replace. Then he tried to reassure me that I’d “only be charged for vegetarian nachos” like that was some kind of favor? If u can't memorize an order, USE PEN AND PAPER
No. That’s not good enough. I didn’t order vegetarian nachos. I didn’t enjoy them. I picked through them trying to find missing ingredients. That entire dish should have been taken off the bill, period.
This wasn’t just a bad day—it was a pattern. First time, they ruined my steak. This time, they couldn’t even handle a drink and an appetizer. Friendly vibes don’t excuse complete incompetence. I shouldn’t have to babysit my own order and chase down basic service.
To recap: ❌ Wrong drink ❌ Wrong meal ❌ No follow-up ❌ FOUR reminders for sauce ❌ No accountability
Do better. Stop charging people for meals they didn’t actually receive. Because I’m done giving this place chances. I paid 85 bucks and only half of it is worth it that arrived correct: water, quac with chips, bread and coffee🤦🏻♀️
Are you going to reimburse me for the meal I didn’t order and didn’t enjoy? 20% off the bill? Nothing? You’re a massive franchise and yet your staff isn’t trained on how to handle mistakes when they happen? How about trying to make it right so the customer actually wants to come back, instead of walking out thinking this place is just a pathetic excuse for a restaurant that can’t even manage basic service? Get it...

Last night after a visit with my boyfriend he got severely ill throughout the night (will spare the details)
After contacting a manager the next morning (Claudia) I was told I would get a refund but upon filling out a report in store was later told I would essentially need to go to the doctors to prove the illness as no one else has called to complain about any illness as I predicted it was food poising.
This was disappointing as I pointed out a few things to Claudia That I had called first thing in the morning and that other people might not have had the chance to call in as of yet That it extremely inconvenient as apart of their policy to request someone go to the doctors to prove the illness (the last thing anyone wants to do after being sick all night is spend hours waiting at the doctors to then prove said illness) That my refund should not be at the result of other people not calling Not everyone does as some people have social anxieties, don't like to complain despite the valid reason too or for this reason (the response of your situation being invalidated). My boyfriend for example wasn't going to call in but as I stand on strong morals of a company providing a service that's positive if you're paying for I didn't on his behalf.
I will continue to look into this matter but nonetheless would suggest any other jack astors location over this one.
I would also like to say my server and her service was great. My review is solely a reflection of my boyfriend getting sick after eating here and Claudia’s means for resolution.
Update as of 08/20/2025: this matter was never rectified as the district manager doubled down on the nonsense of requiring “proof” of illness from a doctors visit and I still have yet to get an update on the investigation I was told would happen pertaining to the food poisoning. Never returning to this location and am severely disappointed in the outcome and the fact we basically...

I can honestly say that our waiter put in far less effort than other staff around the room , to the point where it felt like blatant laziness. Perhaps this is due to the enforced 18% gratuity added to our food (549.15) and drink bill (102.58), making it seem like going the extra mile was no longer a priority.
Throughout the evening, every basic request, water refills, napkins, and even placing drink orders like sangrias and bellinis, had to be prompted by us. At no point did she seem attentive enough to anticipate these needs.
The food was just okay. We ordered a variety of items (as shown on the receipt), but many fell short. The chicken wings were a decent size, but eight pieces for $19.99 with no sides felt overpriced. The bowtie pasta with chicken was too dry, the chicken itself was overcooked, the nachos were unappetizing, and the burgers came out overdone.
For a well-known establishment, this experience fell far short of the expected level of service and quality. To make matters worse, our server was seen socializing with the manager and front desk staff while a stack of dirty plates accumulated on our table. Even when eye contact was made — clearly signaling we needed attention — no action was taken. It felt as if we were being deliberately ignored, or this is simply how this location operates. Even after notifying the manager (or team lead) and requesting the dishes be cleared, the mess remained throughout the night. To top it off, our waiter brought out the dessert menu while the table was still cluttered with used plates and glasses. To my opinion, a basic service error that is a choice.
It felt like more effort was put into upselling than providing genuinely attentive service.
This is certainly not an experience we’d recommend for a party or group, and we will not be returning. Too bad since this is well...
