I recently visited Kimsoonrye Soonsal Chicken with friends and opted for the All-In-One Box, allowing us to sample six flavours. We chose: Plain, Mala, Pepper Mayo, Original, Green Onion, and Soy Garlic. The standout was the Mala, boasting an authentic Szechuan peppercorn kick that truly enhanced the chicken, while the other sauces provided a pleasant sweetness with enough uniqueness to appreciate their differences. However, the Plain variant was underwhelming, lacking any special batter or sauce to distinguish it from its sauced counterparts. The interior ambiance was interesting, with plenty of decor to catch the eye, though the men's room door was difficult to open, and the restaurant's temperature was uncomfortably cool, detracting from the overall comfort on a cold day outside. Service was prompt and efficient. I had an issue with their use of "Gangjeong" in the menu. As a Korean, I found this misleading, as Gangjeong traditionally refers to a type of Korean-style fried chicken without rice cake, deep-fried and coated in a sweet glaze, similar to Sweet and Sour pork. The offering here was more of a Korean-style fried chicken. It was authentic but deviated from what I understood to be the traditional Gangjeong. This can lead to misinformation about Korean cuisine, and I am taking a star off my rating. Overall, my visit here was a mixed bag, experiencing culinary delights while seeing areas for...

walked into this place randomly and it was such a good vibe!!! def coming back. the camp chairs and the turf are so silly, i love it! the chairs were comfy to me, idk about other people. also the kpop playing in the background was so good! just note that they only have 4 small tables and 2 party tables so be aware of that! we were lucky and we walked in and got a table pretty late at night when other restaurants in the area were closed. service was great and the man at the bar was super sweet!

we got a 6 flavour pack of the chicken, my faves were the soy garlic, cream corn, cheese, but the other flavours are good to try just for the experience! the box is the best deal and we had plenty to take home as well! $50 for all of that is a really good deal especially since other korean fried chicken places like Chicken+ are super expensive and only let you do half and half. Getting 6 flavours is an amazing option!!

We also got the rosé tteokbokki/toppoki and that was delicious! a hint of spice but not spicy. overall this is such a good cheap option for eating out especially with current toronto prices! it was $50 for 6 chicken, 2 pop, 2 rice and it also included a $5 discount on the toppoki which ranged from $17-$20 which wasn't bad! about $22 per person (group of 3) plus tip!

also the alcohol is so cheap, i think soju was $16 a bottle and they had $9 cocktails and highballs which for toronto...

Horrible service. The guy that was working tonight was so rude! Do not come here. We came in asking if my 8 YEARS OLD brother can use the bathroom and he said its for customers only, we said we will pay, we will buy something, but he was super rude. They do not care about their customers.

Edit: he is saying we came randomly at night time, your restaurant is open so how is it considered coming in randomly and who cares if my whole family came, it was 5 people in total while your restaurant was practically empty. You are only saying that because we don’t look like your typical customers. Instead of apologizing you are being defensive and not taking accountability for your actions. We offered to pay for our 8 YEARS OLD brother to use the bathroom but you just stared at us, that’s when we got angry because how can you deny a child the right to use the bathroom after we told you WE WOULD PAY!!!! Yes you did say the bathroom is for customers only, but we offered to pay so how are we not considered customers? Even after we express our concerns you are getting angry and telling me not to leave reviews that harms your business. I am only...

This restaurant truly transports you to an outdoor table in Korea! In fact, from the moment you step inside, the decor makes you feel like you’re in a K-drama. I brought my friend here for her birthday, and we were absolutely delighted with the experience. The food was exceptional! We tried the rose tteokbokki, which was incredibly delicious, and the “all-in-one” combo. This combo lets you choose six flavors of boneless chicken, along with fries or rice, and two pops. As a party of two, we found the portions very generous, especially the tteokbokki, so we had to take some of the chicken home. However, the combo would be perfect for a group of two if that’s all you order. While they don’t offer bone-in chicken, the variety of flavors and the reasonable pricing more than make up for it. The owner/server was super attentive and kind, making the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend checking this place out if you haven’t already. I’m looking forward to coming back with my family!
