I was initially tempted by the photos on Google Maps but my experience in person was disappointing. We went for a bite after a Jays game and while service was good, burgers and fries were AWFUL. Just awful. The fries were soggy, stale, and not crispy at all. The cheeseburger was an even greater disappointment. First off, you're getting pickles and onions on your cheeseburger and THAT'S IT. No lettuce. No tomatoes. No cucumbers. Nothing. Just pickles and fried onions - both of which I hate. There’s no option to get any other veggies on your cheeseburger. They use unpleasant cheddar cheese and there's no option to upgrade to quality Swiss cheese. This was by far one of the worst burgers I've ever had in Toronto. The only reason why I finished my cheeseburger was that I was hungry after the game. I'm never going back to this place again. My wife, on the other hand, liked her Keto burger. Keto buns are hard to come by at burger joints, so if you prefer Keto buns, this place has ‘em. As they say, to each, their own. Chef Matt Yilmaz, please go to Holy Chuck at Yonge and St Clair and learn how to make quality burgers. Your cheeseburger was a big disappointment. Matt: thanks for your reply below. I wish you the best of luck with your business for I know how difficult it is to run a small fast food joint like that. I was really frustrated with your cheeseburger but as you said, it’s a personal preference. You have a lot of 5-star reviews which shows that there are plenty of happy customers out there. To each their own.

Decided to try out Matt's burger lab for lunch a couple months ago after reading about it quite a bit. The smash burger game in Toronto is quite popular but I'll admit that I'm not a regular burger guy. However Matt's was a good option for a weekday lunch close to the office. I tried the Oklahoma special with the side of an Oreo milkshake. The burger was a looker. The patty was smashed well and nicely caramelized with some crispy edges. The onions here are numerous! I think I could have done with a little less as the burger was a mess (which is fine for some) However what really took some points away from the burger was how much ketchup they had on there! I know some folks who consider ketchup blasphemous but I'm not one of them. In moderation, it's alright. But this was excessive for me. I think I'll ask for ketchup on the side next time. Besides the ketchup and onions I think this is a solid smash burger. The meat and cheese here is good stuff so I'll likely stick with the classic cheese in the future. With ketchup on the side. The milkshake was the star of my meal. I was a bit sceptical about milkshakes as they can sometimes be too sweet or rich but this one hit the spot. The right amount of sweetness and creaminess. This is highly recommended for a treat. Finally the staff at this location were playing some awesome tunes at the time. Scary pockets covers are done of my favorite tunes to relax to! Made for an excellent atmosphere for me.

So glad that there's now a decent gourmet burger place that we can go to. We used to get our burger cravings with another known burger chain in the same area (well known for their "secret menu" and religious connotation) but lately we're not happy with the quality of their burgers anymore. Came during lunch time and place was pretty quiet. The lone staff (who was also the Manager/Cashier/Cook) was very nice, friendly and helpful. They have a daily special of Smash Burger, Fries, Drink and the price was pretty reasonable. We upgraded the fries to onion rings for $1.50 more and hands down was one the best onion rings in Toronto. Thick slices of onions were deep fried to crunchy golden-brown perfection. The smash burger with its tender juicy meat, creamy cheese, caramelized onions, pickles and their zesty signature sauce on a toasted bun was satisfyingly good! Also tried one of their Signature Burger - Big Egg Theory. The soft egg yolk and oozing melted cheese breaks and seeps into the beef patty making a heavenly combination of taste and texture. Can't wait to come back and try other things on their menu.

I don't normally take the time to post reviews like these but I was absolutely disgusted by this place and the Staff treatment that I recieved. I had to leave feeling absolutely revolted. It was a Saturday April 15th in the evening and I walked in asking to use the bathroom as it was urgent. I intended to purchase something on the way out. The lady working the counter said I needed to purchase food to use the bathrooms. I had no problem with that and asked if I could do so when I came out. She responded with attitude and told me absolutely not. I said it was urgent and I would buy some food on the way out. I tried to walk over to the bathroom but she rudely body blocked me and locked the bathroom and gave me a dirty look. I asked to buy a drink as it was quick then I could use the bathrooms. She told me it was dine in only, to which I said okay I will buy some food when I come out. I politely asked what options they have that are gluten free and she was so rude and brushed me off. I have a gluten allergy and I asked if I could eat the fries. She said the fries were not gluten free nor the food items i enquired about. So again I asked what was gluten free and said i will at least buy a drink if i can use the bathroom. She rudely told me to leave and this was embarrassing as it was infront of the people waiting in the restaurant. I do not reccomend anyone going here. The lady working was nasty and rude to not only me but gave attitude to other...
