We went here on an early spring day. The patios recently were just allowed to open and operate so this was one of our first dine outs in a long while. It was lightly raining during the time so it was great that they had seating locations outside that was still covered with some roofing above. What stands out early is the exceptional customer service they provide. They lit up the outdoor heating right away for our table because it was getting a little cold outside due to the rain. We were checked up on to see how we are doing or if we want to order anything more for just the right amount of frequency. The servers also had no issue with our constant requests for wet wipes, napkins, water refills, or whatever. A nice detail on dining here is that many outdoor seating locations offer a view of the CN tower. With clear weather conditions it is perfectly visible. It can be obstructed if it is raining or during foggy weather. For orders we had the Butter Chicken, Fish & Chips, Phat Fried Rice, and some Nachos. The food presentation was good. Taste was alright. The butter chicken was average. I have had better butter chicken in a lot of other places. My only complain is that I was disappointed with the nachos. I understand that the weather might be a little cool during that rainy spring day, but the nachos got stiff and hard to eat a little too quick. The cheese they used made it that the whole thing just stuck together and difficult to take out pieces to eat. The taste and experience can be better. Overall, the nachos was hard to consume and we ended up not being able to finish eating it.

beautiful place with a youthful atmosphere and tons of staff! hostess accommodated my party of 4 despite us arriving an hour before our reservation time. high-top tables were stable and spacious. reasonable drink specials ($9 spiked iced tea for the month of August - pictured) and good competitive prices for dinner foods especially. BEST chicken sandwich I've ever had!!! the apple coleslaw and hot honey on those 2 delicious pieces of lightly breaded & fried chicken.... 🤤 OMG next time im downtown i am definitely bringing my friends here! had the crème brûlée for dessert (which i don't often order at the same place i eat dinner at) and it was a nice maybe 1.75cm of custard under the sugar, which was a welcome surprise as restaurants usually don't fill their ramekins very deep. the sugar layer was a little over-torched and was really thick (unmelted sugar was left under the melted layer). HIGHLY highly recommend!!!! check their easily-accessible online menu before going to get those sweet sweet specials. 🥂 [bill breakdown (for reference with price changes or for budgeting estimates): 2x diet pepsi - $2.50 each glass of canadian beer - $9 3x spiked iced tea glass - $9 each tandoori chicken skewer - $17 2x signature chicken sandwich - $19.50 each (comes with fries) steak sandwich - $24 (comes with fries) bacon cheeseburger - $19.50 2x crème brûlée - $12 each]

A satisfying dining experience! Taking advantage of the promo of menu prices being capped at $20.23 (Really, more restaurants should have promos like this!), I tried the sirloin steak with truffle fries and the lobster pasta mains. The steak was quite tender and I actually really liked the horseradish sauce. The lobster pasta's sauce was amazing and I liked the inclusion of spinach. Was happy with the portion sizes of the two mains given the discounted price. Also ordered the tiramisu, which was quite good; however, I was not a fan of the french onion soup, which tasted like a bowl of soy sauce soup...To make up for that, I enjoyed the vibey and instagrammable interior (note the fox & rabbit depictions on the wall), the lounge chair seating was super comfy, and I even liked the washroom sink design. It was not as loud as I expected either; it was possible to have conversations with my friend sitting at our table. The service was also consistently great, attentive without being intrusive or overbearing. Our server was Cheyann, who did a great job for our meal, so please do give her a shoutout. With one main per person and a shared appetizer and dessert, it came to about $40 per person tax and tips included, which was great value imo. Overall, hoping there are more interesting promos and I'd gladly come back to try the other dishes (and drinks).

The theme is swift, courteous service and seating vs absurdly loud music. My neighbors were shouting to be heard to the point that I was an unwitting and unwilling party to their awkward first date. Best of luck, guys. While I wish them the best in their dream of home ownership, unfortunately it seems unfeasible under the cruel rule of Trudeau-Singh. And now please allow me to un-digress. The items in question are reviewed in the order they arrived. First the TGIT Salmon Crostini - the bread was missing crustiness, sadly lacking that essential textural contrast. The salmon was tasty. A few crispy capers would have made up for overly soft bread. Charred broccoli - steamed before a brief engagement with the hot cast iron serving griddle; fairly sweet, plenty of Parmesan. Caesar salad - superbly crunchy croutons, crisp romaine and enough dressing to earn its place at my table. Full flavor and the lemon slice alongside was pleasantly plump. Fox burger - featuring a tender smashed patty with a hint of char. Unremarkable pickle. High service standards were in evidence as every free hand passing by pitched in to clear my table as dishes were emptied. In the end I almost didn't mind that tip options start at 20% by default.

booked through open table and requested a booth but if they didn’t have one, any table but a middle table. when we got there, the hostess was nice but the girl with her had an attitude and we were given the middle table. we asked the hostess if we can move and she moved us outside. our server was nice but the stay was weird. we had the sunset mocktail, which was fine, and the margarita which tasted like 5oz of tequila and food colouring. the spin artichoke dip was fine, nothing special. the food took a minute to come out and when it did, i got the wrong food. it was rectified though. we were both happy with the food (got the chicken alfredo add shrimp and the chicken club with fries; the bread from pasta was disgusting and stale). the issues arose when it came to the bills as we asked for separate bills and the dip to be split. i was told that the food was comp’d for the wait but when checks came we realized the food was not comp’d, the drinks were all on my bill and all the food was on her bill (her meal, the split app, and the ‘comp’d meal’). we asked her to change the bills and we were told that once it’s printed, they can’t change it. again no fault to the server she was really nice

First time here at Fox on John and it's a very lovely experience. I can see most of the good reviews were authentic and we came during their January 2024 special where everything was capped at $20.24. The decor and food was absolutely superb. We ordered their ribeye steaks for 2 (see pictures) for $20.24 each, it was an amazing value for a 10oz steak and it tasted amazing. Our waitress was very quick, friendly and smiling and food came out amazingly quick. The only downside was at the entrance. We didn't have a reservation at first and when we first walked in and the lady at the front said they were fully booked and didn't offer us a wait time. Ironically I quickly went online to check OpenTable and saw there were seatings for 2 just 15min and 30min later, I wasn't sure why the option wasn't given to wait but it felt like she wanted to send us away. Otherwise, restaurant and everything was top notch! Barring the issue at the beginning, everything was great.
