This is by far my favorite bakery in the neighborhood - I won't eat pastries from any of the shops on Bloor. I lived in London (England) for the last 5 years and grew to love European pastries. I had always disliked North American pastries before as they tend to be stale and not flaky enough (which is true of most bakeries in Toronto). Monte bakery has perfect pastries! Their pistachio escargot is my favorite, and their coffee (and cold brew) are excellent. Everything I have tried has been beyond good. What a wonderful bakery!! We bought the death by chocolate and the churro which were both delicious. Haha, as you can imagine the death by chocolate was A LOT of chocolate so be prepared but it was expected given the name and description and my kids thoroughly enjoyed it! I can’t wait to try all the rest of their delicious baked goods! Please come support them!
