McGregor Park Community Centre — Local services in Toronto

I have never had such a miserable experience at a community centre. I am a wedding decorator and was hired to work a wedding event at the centre. Some woman (she was brown, shorter and wore glasses) was working on the night of sunday, November 27, 2022 and right away she was treating us with hostility.

I arrived at 5:30 and only asked if I could enter the room to decorate and right away she spoke rudely saying I couldn’t go in cuz it wasn’t rented for that time. Apparently it was through another worker who was allowing it but this rude woman wasn’t having any of it.

As the wedding decorator I had no idea to any of this so I don’t understand the rudeness.

We were told to come back at 10:30 pm to take down and again wr did not know that the rental was until 11. We were taking our things down and she came to us and was behaving extremely rude and unprofessional as a community centre worker. Saying we didn’t look like we were working fast enough , and that none of this was her problem. I could not believe her and did not understand what her problem was. We finished at 11:10 and left the parking lot at 11:15. There was no common curtesy from her to allow us to just be there for 10 minutes more, as we were struggling to put the stuff away in time.

I was disappointed with the staff member's attitude and behavior. I think her name is cristine. we felt disrespected. As a customer I expect to be treated with courtesy and respect.

If i were the staff , even though the the contractor had to 2 mins left . You dont need to say "You are trespassing" because as a contractual we know the contract that we signed . As for cristine or christine Being meaned and not thinking abouth the word that you are talking talking just say it nicely and dont be rude to the people who rented on the hall. 2 mins still our time . 9:00 pm we understand you have rules and as a contratual we agreed with that . But 2mins before the time you can wait and dont go to the hall and saying we are trespasing on the hall that we rented. You are a bad imag on the communicty centre . As we know community centre is open for public and no one is trespassing the bldg. if supervisor or managers is reading this . Please hired the right people and have a good understanding and a good attitude towards...

I just recently visited the outdoor pool two days in a row no issues with the actual pool itself besides a the garbage along the fence. The changing rooms and bathrooms on the other hand were disgusting they had only two benches inside the changing room one which was holding the door open so nowhere to sit and change, there was garbage all over the dirty muddy floors the same garbage was there on the second day I went so clearly it's not being cleaned properly! The bathrooms had no toilet paper or soap there were big balls of hair in the sink and feces smeared all over the walls it literally made me sick to my stomach!! I am also 9 months pregnant and slipped and thankfully caught myself from all the water on the floor I know it's hard to control the amount of water on the floors but at least having someone mop it every so often would make a bit of a difference!
