I love Osmow’s, and I love shawarma in general, it’s my go-to meal. It might have been the time of night I came (around 9:30pm) or some misunderstanding with my order, but it was the absolute worst shawarma I’ve ever had and I don’t think I’ve ever even come close to having a bad experience with it ever before at any place.
The meat was over cooked and incredibly dry, I have never experienced dry shawarma in my life and I eat it weekly. Sauce was so scarce and skimpy I thought maybe I had misspoke or they misunderstood and had not included any sauce, but at the every end of my wrap was a smidge of hot sauce and a drip of garlic. I had asked for it hot, and again couldn’t taste any hot sauce until the last bite. It lacked flavour because it was so dry, and when dining-in I was given no tray or cutlery (so when inevitably I dropped toppings, I looked really gross and messy to all the people walking past the shopfront).
Very disappointed with the quality, I will not return to this location. Wish I had taken a picture of it as I was eating it, it literally looked like I had ordered no sauce and when I went to the counter to ask for some more on the side the guy rolled his eyes and looked at his colleague before giving me a container to drizzle...
Read moreThe place is great, and I didn’t had problems with it until my visit today. It was my third time at Osmow’s, two times before it I was happy with the service and food. I work nearby that’s why this place is a great place for me to grab my lunch. Today, however, what happened - changed my mind. First of all, from 6 team members who were working, only two of them they wearing their masks properly. It’s absolutely unacceptable. Second, being the only customer in the store, I still was waiting for my wrap for almost 15 minutes, because staff was too busy talking between each other. Third, I specifically said that I don’t want hot peppers and turnips in my wrap. As soon as I bite into it, what do I see? Hot peppers. This is ridiculous. Clearly your staff doesn’t care about their customers, their wishes or their safety. So why would I spent money in the place like this? Yeah, I am not coming back, at least at this location. You need seriously improve your customer service skills. Update: I came back after I got a reply to see if anything actually changed and I was pleasantly surprised. Read moreI stopped patronising Osmow's about 9 months ago due to their shrinking portion sizes. I tried them out again today, on the off chance that the situation hadn't gotten any worse.
I ordered a large shawarma, and received a meagre allotment of toppings and chicken in a single pita. When paying, I asked if they still offered the super-sized shawarma, and was told that was what I had received.
I instructed my server that the portion size was even smaller than I had received 9 months ago, this being paltry and miniscule even by reduced standards. She blamed the serving size on mandates from head office, and apologized.
It's disgusting how little this chain cares about providing affordable, nourishing food at fair quantities for a reasonable price. The serving I received today would have been a bit larger than a small serving a year ago. Today, it's their super-size.
I can't stress enough: if you want good value for your money, avoid Osmow's at all costs... pun intended.
