Last night as I was driving past Pizza Pizza at GerrardE/Greenwood, I suddenly had this craving for my fond memories of Pizza Pizza's signature pizza: lots of melting cheese in a delightful chewy crispy crust. I went to the counter and selected the one with lots of veggies and black olives. I found a table and waited for the pizza being warm up in the oven. I was surprised after a few seconds, the guy yelled out that my pizza was ready. I took one look. The cheese on top is not melting, in fact it was still hardened. The crust was dark brown and I took one bite it was extremely hard and dry. Being in the food business for over 30 years and a past director of CRFA (Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association).BTW It just happened that Lawrence Austin, (Pizza Pizza's founder Michael Overs's sidekick) was serving CRFA as director too! I know exactly why my pizza was heated for just a few seconds. The guy who heated my pizza slice must be the franchise owner who wanted to save money because that piece of pizza slice should have been thrown out and belongs to the garbage bin. He was afraid that if he heated that slice too long to achieve melting cheese status, the crust will be all burned out and too hard to chew. He knowingly passed this sub par pizza to an old Chinaman with grey hair from the neighborhood. He probably also think I don't know how to use social media to vent...
Read moreIâm only giving this a 2 star review because this has been going on for a few months and this is serious. I live close by to this location and I pass by it almost everyday when Iâm out boarding for exercise. Every time I look in the workers donât have their masks on or if they do it is not covering their mouth or nose. I remember going in about two months ago and being served by a girl who didnât have her mask on. Another case that happens frequently too is the workers wonât have their masks on and then when they have a customer they put it on. It shouldnât matter if you have customers or not, you should be wearing a mask at your occupation at all times.
When I look towards the back where they make the pizza most to all of the workers were not wearing their mask. I havenât gotten pizza from that location since because I donât feel safe going in and ordering or even delivery if I know the workers arenât wearing...
Read moreNever the type to write a review but this place is hilarious. Order a slice and Stromboli, hands me my slice moments after paying tells me itâs going to take 20 minutes for the rest of my order. Told him to cancel its if itâs going to take long (mind you I just paid, items hasnât even started to be prepared yet) says he canât cancel it and heâll rush the order and it will take only 10 minutes. Sit and wait about 20 minutes, other employe comes and says itâs not ready yet and havenât even hit the oven yet. LOL. Also found it funny the other guy who took my order wouldnât even look me in the eye and was smiling the whole time. Other guy actually gave me my money back but only after telling me to be quiet while explaining what happened. Place is full of clowns. Honestly my fault for even expecting any type of service here. Good...
