Please keep in mind, when reading reviews, that (at time of writing) the store offers a discount to customers that rate 5 stars. I ordered a smoothie and my friend ordered a Boba tea and a crepe - all were of dubious quality. The main reason for my low review is for food handling/safety reasons. The person serving us did not wash his hands OR wear/change gloves before, during, or after preparing and directly handling my friend's crepe. Additionally, my friends crepe had egg in it, so we watched him crack an egg on the counter, put the egg on the crepe, and then handle other food and drinks - again, without washing his hands or performing any sort of sanitization. Egg shells can be contaminated with bacteria, like salmonella. Not only was the worker putting himself at risk by not wearing gloves/washing up/sanitizing his stations, he put my friend at risk by handling her food with contaminated hands and also cross-contaminated all food and beverages made thereafter. Food borne illness is an even more dangerous situation for vulnerable populations like those that are immuno-compromised, elderly, or pregnant. They charge 4% if you pay by credit card. It’s absurd that they won’t even tell you until you pay. Writing details: I am not a regular customer but every time I make a purchase I will be asked how I want to pay and I tap on the card to pay. I was never told that there is a 4% fee when you choose to pay with credit card. I only got to know today when I saw two different charges for debit and credit on the keypad. May be they chose the credit option for me in the past when I said I will pay by credit card. Again it can be a few cents when the purchase is for a small item but it will make a difference in price when you buy an expensive item. I was upset to learn that I have been paying 4% just for using credit card. If I was told earlier then I would have brought debit card each time to pay. I dislike how the owner has put down a customer for not being able to afford a few cents which doesn’t add up bcos none of the items at the store is priced in cents. The cashier had a weirdly disrespectful and unfriendly attitude when my partner and I stopped by for drinks yesterday evening. I asked to replace the sugar in my large mango pineapple with honey. I got the same drink that morning at Eaton Centre as well and there was no problem. I don't think she did what I requested.
