I do not have anything to complain about. My friends and I went to the Art gallery of Ontario and were actually on our way to a different restaurant when we happened upon this quaint pretty restaurant. We decided to walk in and have a look at the menu. The plan was to disappear if we didn't like anything on it. We saw some options we were open to trying and decided to stay. It was the best decision of that evening as the food was truly AHHH-MAZINGšŸ˜! We had their lovely spring rolls for the starters, I ordered for their Thai Basil noodles and my friends had the Hot Thai noodles, someone had a rice and sauce combination, the meals were a delight with very generous portions and the accompanying proteins were to be found in abundance inside the meals (shrimps and chicken). We couldn't even finish the meals and they were happy to provide us with Tupperware and bags to pack our leftovers in. Their mocktails are absolutely terrific! Loved them! Had something with mango can't quite remember the name but it was so good! ā¤ I totally recommend this place. Service - the food came really quickly (10 mins as promised), the service was good, food was tasty, chef came by to ask if we liked the meal, they had extra sauces on the table, and my friends were more than happy to give them a generous tip. Don't forget to give tips guys! Took me 7 days to write this review because I did not just want to give it 5 stars and move on. I wanted to take my time to describe what a delightful dinner I had there. Welldone to the staff and management! šŸ‘

I HAVE BEEN EATING AT SALAD KING (YONGE/ELM) SINCE HIGH SCHOOL! SO GLAD THEYRE FINALLY EXPANDING AND HAD OPENED ONE UP ON QUEEN ST WEST. I CAME BY HERE AND ORDERED SOME OF MY USUAL FAVOURITES. CRISPY VEGETABLE SPRINGROLL (3/$5) - THESE HAVE BEEN CONSISTENTLY DELICIOUS FOR YEARS! THEY HAVE MADE THEM BIGGER, AND THE TANGY DIPPING SAUCE IS STILL AS GOOD AS I RBR. TOM YUM SOUP W.MUSHROOMS - ONE OF THE BEST TOM YUMS IVE HAD. I LIKE THAT ITS NOT SWEET. PERFECT BALANCE OF SPICY AND SOUR! CUCUMBER SALAD - IVE NVR NOTICED THIS DISH BEFORE, I THINK ITS NEW? WAS REFRESHING AND TASTY. SIAM NOODLES W.VEGETABLES - THIS DISH WAS USUALLY MORE CREAMIER AND THE SAUCE WAS THICKER. THIS TIME I HAD IT IT WAS A BIT WATERY AND THE SAUCE DIDNT COAT THE NOODLES. NONETHELESS, THE FLAVOURS WERE STILL GOOD. BATTERED SHRIMP W.FRIED RICE - THE RICE WAS A BIT TOO SALTY AND IT WAS VERY "CHINESE"-LIKE...THINK CHICKEN BALL FRIED RICE? WE WERENT PARTICULARLY IMPRESSED WITH THIS DISH. I THINK ID STICK TO MY USUAL PAD THAI AND CURRIES, BUT IT WAS OVERALL STILL A VERY DELICIOUS LUNCH! SERVICE WAS STELLAR! OUR WAITRESS WAS SO POLITE AND FRIENDLY. DECOR & AMBIANCE WAS VERY NICE. THEY HAVE LOVELY THAI ARTWORK DISPLAYED AROUND THE RESTAURANT. DEFINITELY STILL MY TOP 5 THAI PLACES IN THE CITY!

Wandering downtown and looking for a place to stop, I was definitely intrigued when I saw Salad King (it was around when I was in University, but never tried it). The staff was friendly and worked efficiently. We took advantage of the $6 add on to make it a lunch combo. Initially, my husband chose the lettuce wraps, but then we were informed that it wasn't available until after 1 pm (which they could have mentioned on the menu). He ended up getting the jumbo wings, and I got the shrimp pad thai. The appetizers were average, the drinks were okay. I never tried the wings, but my pad thai was definitely underwhelming. I ended up having to add quite a bit of the sauce they had on the table just so it would resemble authentic thai food. Overall, would I come back? Maybe, but I would not make a special trip downtown for sure. There are plenty of thai places popping up that is worth the drive more than Salad King.

I debated whether I would leave a review as I did speak to the manager or owner( not sure) briefly but I did not actually share the whole experience I had today.

I love salad king first of all, so I go often and have the same dish all the time. Tonight I went to the queen location when I usually go to the yonge one. The service was terrible. I walked in after a couple with a baby, we all sat at basically the same time however as I was by myself I was say at the bar top area. No big deal I don’t need a table but everyone else in the restaurant was on the other side of the restaurant. I waited for the waiter to come over for quite some time. I actually placed an order with Sephora for pick up before anyone spoke to me at all and still waited before the waiter finally came over. He came over asked if anyone took my order, I said no and he said ok what can I get you. No apology for the wait or actually for just not seeing me at all.

I placed my order, I happened to look behind me and the couple I walked in behind already had placed their order and received their food in the time it took someone to Acknowledge I was there. I had given myself 10 minutes for someone to speak to me at that point of I was ready to walk out.

Finally got my food, didn’t taste right and this isn’t the first time I’ve had food here that just didn’t taste right but I figured it was a one off. It’s not. The food just isn’t to the same standard as the original location. I did not get my app which is normal as it usually comes after the main. My food was flavourless. I was prepared to just eat it at that point because I was over an hour into waiting at that point but it was just bad. So I tried to find my waiter to let him know the dish was wrong. I couldn’t get his attention and he didn’t check in. Again basically ignored. So I put the plate to the side. It sat for probably another 10-15 minutes while I tried to get his attention. He finally came over to ask if I received my app and I said no and my food is incorrect. He said oh you don’t think it’s spicy? I told him there was no spice to it at all. I also said at this point can I just get it to go because I was just done with the entire experience.

The manager came over asked if I enjoyed my food, obviously no, I didn’t eat any of it. I didn’t end up paying but honestly I’d rather have paid for good food than come home with free food I have to fix. I appreciate that she did try to remedy the situation but I’m done giving this location the benefit of the doubt. It’s not good, go to the...
